Race Start Time:

8 AM start time. 4 person teams, 3 minutes apart.
This will be for the Competitive Group who will run the red course.
When the Red Course Competitive runners are finished we will start the other teams that will run and also will be timed.

Hurricane Mud Flud Run On Saturday, May 17th at 8am, local residents can witness friends, neighbors and family members crawling through muddy ravines, fording through a babbling stream, jumping and climbing over a multitude of obstacles, while straining to see through a ‘flud of mud’…until participants emerge triumphantly from the 3rd annual, Wren Hurricane Mud “FLUD” Run. Contestants will compete on the 3.1-mile course until the last team completes (or is carried off) the muddy obstacle-filled FLUD Run through Wigington’s Farm behind Wren High School.

The last 2 years, The Hurricane FLUD RUN has been a great success with over 110 teams each year. This year will be even greater. People have commented this is a hard course and want more, so this year we will give you more. We will have 2 courses in 1. The red course will be for the die hard mudder who wants to be the Kings and Queens of the course. This means you will share a lot of the tough obstacles as in the past, but some will be made harder for the red band group, such as 8ft and 6ft walls for the red group and 4ft for the intermediate groups. Penalties will be strictly enforced for the red teams this year. Old obstacles can change for red teams to make it harder. Intermediate teams will have the choice to run the red course if wanted to see what you have got. Also new obstacles will be added this year.

Organized to raise money for the Wren High School Athletic Program, the event provides everyone the opportunity to play in the mud while supporting a worthy cause. Proceeds will be used to purchase and maintain sports equipment, assist with travel and team related expenses and will benefit all sports programs at Wren High School, both boys and girls.

There’s nothing quite as exhilarating as watching people you know and love battle for the title of Champion Mud Warrior,” said Dan Cooper, one of the FLUD Run organizers. “We want this to be a fun event that will challenge participants, while raising money to support athletic programs at Wren High School. You might still get yelled at and it very well could be your mom, but this time, it’s not child’s play, it is for a great cause.

Course Description:

Course is very natural with hills, creeks, gullies, water and many obstacles.

Obstacles Will Include
1: START: Mud Hill into big mud pit.
2: Retention Pond, enter pond climb hill along fence slide back into pond, go out corner low craw uphill or pull self up with rope on slippery plastic.
3: Stretcher Carry4: Enter lake channel into lake
5: Hay bale climb.
6: Slick hill climb at Dam of 2nd lake
7: Pipe Crawl
8: Drainage Ditch
9: Creek run
10: Tire wall
11: Start of 2nd creek run to end
12: Mud hills, over and under log pit
13: Firewood carry across corner of lake
14: Dock crossing across corner of lake
15: Mud bog creek behind Dam on 1st lake
16: Slide down Dam into lake
17: Hay bale run
18: Tire Flip
19: Power line run
20: Rope Walk across ret Pond
21: In and out of pond
22: Low crawl in mud behind ret pond
23: End of race surprise
24: Will have monkey bar crossing at some point in course

Aid Stations:

There will be 2 water stations and paramedics on the course as well as the end of the run.

Awards:

Overall Winning Team Wins $200 and individual trophies and working on more prizes for this group.
Best Male Team get individual trophies
Best Female Team get individual trophies
Best Coed Team get individual trophies

Spectators:

Spectators is Free, food will be served at a cost.
Viewer areas are available. Kids course available

Parking:

Free Parking at Start line or beside football field. All within 100 yards of start finish line.

Post Party:

Food and vendors will be here plus music.
The Start Finish line is on School property.

Other:

Guaranteed, this will be the best mud run in the upstate.
Minimum age anyone under 12 yrs will have to have adult.
Small kids area at start finish line, $10 can run or play on course all day and receive a free tee shirt.
Showers available after race.
Bring Duct tape if you want to keep your shoes.

Team:

Due to the way pay pal is set up any team with under 4 man team will be charged $30 a team member.

Due to lack of 1 or 2 person teams, they will be no medals for this group.
