4 hour race: 17-23 miles. 2 hour race: 16 - 21 miles

Energy Adventure Challenge The SSG Jason Dahlke Energy Adventure Race is a unique combination of checkpoint finding and physical challenges. Compass skills are required. The race will be in beautiful Fort McAllister state park. Enjoy a very scenic and tough course for both beginners and experts. While distances will not be disclosed, as is part of the challenge of the race and due to varying distances based on navigation skills, you can expect approximately, 4-6 miles of trekking, 12-15 miles of biking and 1-2 miles of kayaking. The 2-hour Sprint race is the same without the kayaking.

Course Description:

The event includes both a 4-hour race and a 2-hour race. While distances will not be disclosed, as that is part of the challenge, you can expect approximately, 4-6 miles of trekking, 12-15 miles of biking and 1-2 miles of kayaking. The 2-hour race does not include the kayaking.

Aid Stations:

Paramedics will be in attendance at race central. Race snacks, fruit, and water available at race central. Racers are expected to bring their own water containers such as CamelBaks.

Awards:

Custom medals are provided to 1st, 2nd, 3rd place winners in each category during the awards ceremony.

Spectators:

There is no fee for visitors to attend. Race central is generally where guests hang out but they are also free to wander around the course. Guests are welcomed to the BBQ lunch and awards ceremony.

Parking:

Carpooling is recommended. Base passes are required and it is recommended that you apply ahead of time.

Post Party:

The awards ceremony and BBQ meal is a great wind-down from an active day. Bounce houses will be available for the children. Donations welcomed.

Team:

Teams are 2-person. Race categories and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd-place awards for the 4-hour race are All-Male, All-Female, and Co-ed. Awards for the 2-hour race are 1st, 2nd, 3rd place regardless of team make-up.
