Race Start Time:

The race starts in waves. Approximately 25 teams go at a time, with a 5 minute lag between each wave. Starting positions are determined by your bib number. Bib numbers 1 through 25 start first.

Course Description:

Prepare yourself and your teammates for over 4 miles of mud, dirt, water, and more. With up to 20 obstacles including water gauntlets, logs, a plunge, and many others we can't tell you about - this will be the dirtiest test you will ever take. We aren't afraid of a little mud... are you?

Are you ready to get dirty… again? Whether you ran in the 2012 JCB MUD RUN or are new to the race, you will find the 2013 JCB MUD RUN to be the MOST INTENSE CHALLENGE of your life! Get ready for a 4.3 mile course of mud, dirt, water, and over 20 obstacles. COURSE OBSTACLES include:

  • Yamacraw Bluff - Hill climb with mud hole at the top, then slide off the side
  • The Lake - Wade through the water and traverse the hill collecting a flag you will have to keep with you the rest of the race
  • Sgt. Jasper’s Trench - Mud trench to cross after exiting the lake
  • Pulaski’s Plunge - You’ll find out when you get to it!
  • Soggy Boggy Road - Bear crawl down a very muddy road
  • Pyramid Grove - Climb over hay bales
  • Water Gauntlet - You’ll find out when you get to it!
  • Whoop Dee Doo Hill - Hill climb
  • Tire Field - Go through a mud hole and then make your way over multiple tires
  • Slip ‘n’ Sludge - You’ll find out when you get to it!

    Spectators:

    We are asking for a $10.00 (cash or check) donation to The Lady Bamford Center for Early Childhood Development that will also give you access to all the food and beverage at the Post Race After Party.

    Post Party:

    The Post Race Party will begin as soon as the first teams are finishing. Food and drinks will be available for the race participants as part of your registration fee, however a $10.00 (cash or check) donation to The Lady Bamford Center for Early Childhood Development is requested for Spectators who want to enjoy the food and beverage at the After Party. Participants are encouraged to bring chairs or tents to relax and enjoy themselves after the race.

    Other:

    An important note, there will not be lockers or changing tents so a friend to hold your keys, towel and even a change of clothes is a good idea! There WILL be outdoor showers to rinse off the muck and grime… if you want.
    You do not have to wear a costume but feel free to show your wild side as there will be awards for the Best Individual Costume and Best Team Costume. Just remember to keep the costumes family friendly since our race is on Father’s Day weekend and there will be plenty of kids of all ages enjoying the mud and sludge! Costume judging will take place on the Main Stage at 7:15 am! Categories: Team (2 and 6-Person Teams combined) and Individual.
    Yes, ages 8 and up are allowed to participate in the run. For ages 7 and under, we have a mud pit they can play in called the Mud Dobber. Adult supervision is required at all times while your child is playing in the Mud Dobber.
