Course Description:
The Muddy Vike is Sponsored by the Sioux Falls YMCA. The Muddy Vike is a 5k Mud Run that will run through the Leif Ericson Day Camp. It will challenge the body and the mind to its maximum ability! You will feel like taking on the world after you finish. Every half mile there will be a new obstacle for you to overcome!
Aid Stations:
We will have 1 aid station at the mid point of the race. We will have paramedics on standby at the race to help with any accidents that occur. We will have fruit and water at the finish line.
Awards:
We will have an awards ceremony at the conclusion of the event. Top 3 in each age group will be awarded a medal.
Prizes:
We will have a prize for the best costume.
We will also have supporting companies prizes we will be giving away.
Spectators:
Spectators will not be allowed on the course,but they will be allowed at the finish to partake in festivities. All spectators will be directed to South Field, where event finish line and entertainment will be located.
Parking:
Parking will be at Lincoln High School Parking Lot, which is located at 2900 S. Cliff Ave., Sioux Falls, SD 57105. YMCA shuttles will be provided to transport participants to and from Lief Ericson in 30 minute increments. Please plan accordingly.
Post Party:
We will have a post race party with live bands and food vendors available for food purchases. Our post race party is like no other in the area as we will have local bands performing to provide entertainment.
Other:
The minimum age for the race is 18 years old, and our event will be chip timed.
We will have a gear check at the start line, and showers will be available at the finish line.
You play an essential role in improving our community just by participating in this event! All event proceeds benefit YMCA programs in our area. (Programs that are for Youth Development, Healthy Living, and Social Responsibility) As a not-for-profit community service organization, the YMCA will utilize these funds toward scholarships for those in need, plus youth and family programs.
