Race Start Time:

First heat leaves at 9am. Waves are in groups of 12 every 10 minutes. Last wave to leave is at 4pm.
There are no special heats, but we encourage younger participants to go earlier in the day.

Mud U Mud U is a fun, unique, and memorable event that your child will be talking about to you and probably just about everyone else for years to come.

The concept of Mud U was derived from the adventure/obstacle events that are currently available to adults whereby participants must complete a series of obstacles or challenges over a generally muddy course. Mud U was specifically developed to provide children and youth between the ages of 6 and 13 with the same fun experience in a safe and age-appropriate manner.

Mud U's inaugural event will be held on April 26th and 27th, 2014 at Lake McMurtry in Stillwater, OK.

Participation will be limited to 500 per day, and registration will close once that limit is reached; therefore, it's important that you register quickly!

Course Description:

This is a relatively flat 1.5 (ish) mile course through trails, forest, and a field. There will be between 12-15 obstacles, which we're keeping a secret!

Aid Stations:

There will be one aid station approximately midway through the course. Paramedics will be on standby. Snacks and drinks will be available for a donation, and local food trucks will also be available.

Parents - safety is our foremost concern! Our own children will be participating.

Spectators:

Spectators are free, although the majority of the course is not accessible to spectators.

Parking is free

Post Party:

Food and vendors will be available. Lake McMurtry offers a variety of outdoor activities that can be enjoyed throughout the day.

Other:

This is a special kids event for those aged between 6-13. Parents are not permitted to participate. It is not a race.
Swimming is not a necessary skill.

Team:

In Mud U a team is a group of individuals who register under the same group name and depart on the course at the same time. A team could be a group of friends, a school, a class, a grade, a team, or anyone! Teams are a great idea for any parent, coach, or educator wishing to develop task and social cohesion in a group.

Your team can be as big as you want! There’s currently no limit although we may have to split your team if it's mammoth, as participants will be leaving the start line in groups of 8.

The larger the team is the cheaper your registration will be. Within one month following the event, each participant will receive a refund based on the number of participants in your team.

We will put teams in the same start time. If a team member switches from an individual to a team or enters near the deadline, we cannot guarantee that their start time will coincide with the time of the rest of the team. Also, if it's a huge team we may not be able to get everyone out in one wave, so we might split it into two waves.
