Course Description:
ALL MOUNTAIN MADNESS DIVISION (All ages & abilities): Short lap style with 2 mud pits and plenty of obstacles to keep you interested. Grab a pal (or a dozen), it’s time to get dirty. Extra super fun points awarded for costumes!
KIDS & FAMILY DIVISION: Have a tiny human that loves to splash around in natural goo? This division is for you. Short lap style with 2 mud pits and enough obstacles to keep things interesting. The more the merrier! Grab your ultimate mountain fam and get after it!
Aid Stations:
Paramedics are on standby at this event - so are our local fireman to hose you off when you're all done!
Spectators:
Spectating at the GoPro Mountain Games is always 100% FREE.
Parking:
FREE parking is available during the summer in the Vail Village and Lionshead Parking Structures. Paid parking is available further east on S. Frontage Road at Ford Park. Free public bus transit to and from parking areas is also provided by the Town of Vail. Please note that overnight parking is not permitted in the the Vail Parking Structures… we’re looking at you car campers.
RV parking is available south of the Lionshead parking garage entrance in the Charter Day Lot at 395 S. Frontage Road. Permits are free for a maximum of 3 days and must be visible in your windshield. Space is limited to first-come, first-served. Overflow parking is available on the North Frontage Road. in West Vail in front of the West Vail Fire Station. There is no “camping” within the Town of Vail in RVs. For permits, please call 970-479-2445.
Other:
Professional and amateur outdoor adventure athletes from the Vail Valley and around the world will converge upon the mountains and rivers of Vail to compete in nine sports and 25 disciplines including: x-country and road cycling, freestyle, 8-Ball, sprint and extreme kayaking, raft cross, World Cup Climbing, stand up paddle sprint and surf cross, as well as trail, mud and road running, dog comps and the Ultimate Mountain Challenge.
In addition to the athletic events, the GoPro Mountain Games will include a mountain photography competition, adventure film school, film festival, an interactive exhibition and demo area, live music, and mountain lifestyle parties.
