JungleGym obstacle races, mud run, and OCR information, distance, cost, dates, calendar, discounts, obstacles, reviews, and more
This race was designed by 7-12-year-olds in our after school program based in East Harlem as an outdoor play based community health intervention.
The children first learned how to ride their bikes, then gained enough skill to cycle from their school on East 113th Street to and around Randall's Island (6-miles), and finally were able to develop 16 obstacles for this 2K and 5K race for their community. Race obstacles will include: Army Crawl, Tower Build, Stepping Stones, Egg-and-Spoon Race, Freeze Dance, Hopscotch, Balance Beams, Slip N Slide, Corn Hole Throw, String Lazer Maze, Tape Maze, Tire Obstacle, Sack Racing, Water Bucket Carry, Over and Under Beams, and Soccer Goal Kicks.
Proceeds will provide two hundred 7-17-year-olds from Upper Manhattan with 5-day/week, year-round, after school and summer programming in the next five years, beginning in East Harlem and adding a second major site near Inwood Hill Park. With your support, we can ensure that children living in Upper Manhattan have access to high-quality, outdoor play and education in their neighborhoods and parks.
