I actually ran the race in June that was rescheduled from the spring due to flood conditions. I feel like this race did not live up to its billing AT ALL.

I ran the 10k event. We got to the venue early and parked, and then set out in search of the registration area. It was quite a search, There were zero signs or banners identifying anything but the Start/Finish, and no visibly identifiable staff. We finally found another runner that pointed the registration area out. I got my packet and was informed they were out of my t-shirt size. Seriously??? When you register, it asks for your t-shirt size. Bring the amount that people sign up for, plus extras for the few people that change their mind at the event. Its not rocket science. As much as these races cost, get the shirts right!!!

The start corral was a rectangle marked by generic plastic tape and littered with discarded water bottles, and there were about 15 people in my wave. We started on time and hit the course. The 10k race was supposed to have 30+ obstacles. I'm sorry, but to me, dragging a fallen tree from the woods and laying it over the path should not count as an obstacle, especially when you do so about a dozen times. Thats just lame.

Aside from the logs laying along the path, there were other repetitious obstacles. Several times there were shallow holes dug in the ground (dry holes) with a log or two laid over the top that you had to crawl through. These were very short - not long, challenging crawls.

There were a couple of decent obstacles - a fairly high cargo net, a series of hurdles with rollers that I saw a BUNCH of people crash hard on, and rope monkey bars. The pontoons across the pond had potential, but it was just too easy.

There was a fairly long pool of muddy water that I think was supposed to replicate the mud crawl at the end of a Warrior Dash, but the wire (plain, smooth wire by the way, not barbed wire) was set so high you could go through by bending over.

The last 3/4 of a mile had zero obstacles. None. No big finish, no fanfare, just a boring run to the finish line. Did I mention there were no timing chips?

This was easily the most disappointing race I ran in the past 2 years.

The Ultimate Mud Run, Obstacle Race and Adventure Race Guide , USA 2.3 5.0 21 21 I would avoid this race at all costs. Everything you are told in the Mud Run Production emails is a LIE! My husband and daughter ran in the kids run. Website says it’s 1-1.25 m
