We offer weekly OCR-specific training from late winter/early spring through the fall. Workouts will cycle through our gym as well as several local parks with miles of trails of varying terrain.
Training modalities include:
Traditional cardiovascular training: lots of running supplemented with rowing, biking and jumping rope
Weighted carries (farmers, sandbag, slam ball, pinch grip, log and barbell)
Climbing (rope, pull-ups, peg board and an 8.5′ wall)
Horizontal traverses (monkey bar, odd object, ring and rope)
Bodyweight training (push-up, pull-up, sit-up, burpee, squat, etc.)
Free weight training (barbell, dumbbell, kettlebell, slam ball, medicine ball and sandbag)
Tire flips, Atlas stones, weighted vests, sled pushes and pulls, balance training and various other training tools help round out a functional fitness approach to obstacle course race training.
