Badass Women of OCR: Chikorita De Lego (Alex Roudayna)

By |October 4th, 2017|

As someone who works her ass off to reach her goals, Chikorita is not afraid to tell it as it is, and is not afraid to be the odd one out or the “freak” in a world where people to pretend to be something they are not.  My article series is about Badass Women who are strong, hardworking, and true to themselves – words that describe Chikorita to a T.

Badass Women of OCR: Kyla Presley

By |September 27th, 2017|

Kyla Presley is a woman with a very interesting background. Before getting into the OCR world, she was a professional figure skater for Disney on Ice. I was rather intrigued that her fitness background of skating and training led her into our crazy yet fun-loving OCR community, and wanted to learn more.

Badass Women of OCR: Danielle Ryzer

By |September 20th, 2017|

From the age of 17, Danielle Ryzer has been intrigued with our favorite sport – OCR. She waited to turn 18 to sign up for her first Tough Mudder and has continued to push herself harder on course ever since. She has a super positive can-do attitude and is inspired by every person that decides to get out on the course, not just the elite athletes. It’s not often you hear of someone that has completed 2 Ultra Beast Spartan races in a month until I heard about Danielle.

Badass Women of OCR: Jesi Stracham

By |September 13th, 2017|

Sarah Fox enthusiastically recommended I interview Jesi Stracham for my Badass Women of OCR Article Series, and I was ecstatic! I had just recently read all about her Toughest Mudder Chicago adventure, and was eager to learn more about this adaptive athlete – I felt truly inspired. You often hear people use the words “I can’t” and that bothers me.

Badass Women of OCR – Haley Mohn

By |September 6th, 2017|

My latest interview is Haley Mohn. Although she is relatively new to our sport, Haley is making her mark on course. She has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, placed 21st overall female in the Spartan Race West Virgina Super (during the Trifecta weekend), and has qualified in her age group division for OCR World Championships.

Badass Women of OCR: Ashley Hazlett

By |August 30th, 2017|

Ashley “Haze” was brought to my attention by Bonnie Wilson at Mud Run Guide. I did some looking into her background and learned that Ashley has accomplished several things within her OCR career. From starring on American Grit to being one of the first females to run with the Relentless team, this girl has the determination, spark, and sass needed to be a Badass both in OCR and athletic endeavors, and off course in her personal life.

Badass Women of OCR: Charity Fick

By |August 16th, 2017|

I have wanted to sit down and write something for a while about why I started the Badass Women of OCR series. I often find it is hard to write about myself, as where do I start?

Badass Women of OCR – Ami Sawran

By |August 9th, 2017|

I always get excited at the opportunity to learn about new people within the OCR community. I first heard about Ami Sawran on the Dirt in Your Skirt Podcast. She is quite the interesting lady – she is well-known on air personality for the popular Mudstacle – Obstacle Racing Website, and a vet by trade.

Badass Women of OCR: Cassidy Watton

By |August 2nd, 2017|

Cassidy Watton to me in her own right embodies the term “Badass Woman of OCR”. She is all about training hard, playing hard and not taking herself too seriously in life. Cassidy has quite the impressive OCR race resume, including a number of podium placements, and she is currently the season 3 and 4 defending champion of the Steve Austin Broken Skull Challenge.

Badass Women of OCR: Krista Markham

By |July 26th, 2017|

Krista Markham was nominated for my article series by friends of hers.  From what I understand she is the epitome of “Never Stop”, “Never Give up”. Having been diagnosed at a young age with severe asthma, she was limited in the activities she could do, but that didn’t stop her from trying. I find this inspiring, as many people see a health diagnosis as a stopping point in life, and fall into deep depressions.
