The course is 4 miles long. It has over 40 named obstacles on it. There is almost 700 vertical feet of climbing. Obstacles are for the most part voluntary. For most of them, other than the hills, you can just walk around the obstacle. However, if you do an obstacle and you like it, you can redo the obstacle. ""Do What You Can Do"" is the motto of the run.
There is one aid station positioned about 1/2 of the way through the course. Members of the Blue Knob Ski Patrol will be stationed throughout the course to administer first aid/ evacuate if needed.
No awards, hence no awards ceremony.
Spectators are free. They are free to roam, but they do so at-their-own-risk.
Parking is free.
No Post-Party. There is a hot dog stand that will be selling hot dogs for an additional nominal fee.
Proceeds from the race, after costs, are split between the Everett HS/MS Renaissance Foundation, which funds student activities, and the Tenley Park Recreation Board, which oversees the maintenance of the Park. Last year, the Tenley Park Rec Board built an ampitheatre for concerts and movies for the community. Donations from the MBR helped to fund that endeavor. Included in our cost accounting is the donation that we make to the Everett Volunteer Fire Company.
There is no minimum age. Children as young as 6 have completed the course. We leave that decision up to the parents. We do ask that children under 13 be escorted by a responsible adult.
We only time 1 heat, and that is just for bragging rights.
You do not have to be able to swim, but some obstacles do cross water. These obstacles, like all obstacles, are voluntary. If you do not want to do them, it is ok to walk around them. ""Do What You Can Do"" is our motto.
The Everett Volunteer Fire Company will be on hand to hose people off afterwards.
You are welcome to race as a team, just sign up the same way, but there are no official teams.
