Course Description:
6 miles and consists of 20 plus obstacles and tough terrain. You also get to run in the gorge of the 90 ft water fall that is the centerpiece of the park.
The Barbarian Challenge is also part of the Alabama OCR Series.
Aid Stations:
Ambulance with Emergency Medical Technicians on site
Awards:
The top finishers in each age division will win an awesome custom medal, as well as second and third places will receive a different, but equally awesome custom medal. The overall female and male winner (from the 8:00 horde only) will receive the coveted “Conan The Barbarian” Sword engraved with authentic runes protecting the bearer from evil. Second place overall female and male will receive a custom made metal Barbarian helmet. Third place overall female and male will receive a custom made Barbarian shield. Everyone else gets a badass medal to prove they’re a true barbarian!
Athena and Clydesdale divisions, we will be awarding the top 3 in each category.
Spectators:
Most of your viewing points will be at the Barbarian Battlefield and then at the Noccalula Falls overlook area.
Parking:
Parking is free and is available at the park entrance, Wedding Chapel (Campground) parking lot and Mitchell School
Post Party:
Food vendors on hand early and ending at approximately 2 hour after the last horde starts the course.
Other:
The Barbarian Challenge is south’s most scenic OCR and also part of the Alabama OCR Series
Team:

Kids Race:
The Kid’s challenge will get started at 8:00 am. The course will be open until 11:00 am so the kids can come run anytime between 8:00 am and 11:00 am. 12 and under may run the kids 1 mile fun run!
