Race Start Time:
Registration Opens: 8am– Race Kits given out race day (107 Lindsay St. S).
Start: 10am – First place will be awarded to the team of four that was fastest to bring all ten (or 7 Rec division) Checkpoint Tokens to the finish line and unscramble the final puzzle.
After Party: 1pm at the Boys and Girls Club of Kawartha Lakes Lindsay Location.

Course Description:
Race for Kids is an urban adventure of approx 5-7km with 2 division options:
Warrior: 10 checkpoint challenges will involve, physical, mental and fun challenges with a longer distance between checkpoints. All checkpoints are top secret with challenges for figuring out locations- a map is provided. GPS and cell phones are permitted. Examples: Wheel barrel teammates across a field, put together a puzzle for next clue, soldier crawl down a hill under a net, put on some flippers and complete a short obstacle run, wash a car after flagging down a volunteer etc. This year we will have an OPP obstacle challenge as part of our Warrior division and special ""treats along the course"". Big cash prizes!!
Rec Division: 7 checkpoints, shorter distance between checkpoints, checkpoints will include soft physical, mental and fun challenges...this should be accessible to all types...you do not have to be athletic. Example: Blindfold a teammate and have them put together a small tent under your instruction, dig for puzzle pieces in a sandbox and put together puzzle etc. no cash prize, prizes TBA
Aid Stations:
Racers will receive bottle of water and snacks, After party with food and drinks provided. In the city: so emergency medical is a cell phone call away.
Awards:
After party with Awards Ceremony!
Warriors:
1st Prize: $4000 cash
2nd Prize: $2000 cash
3rd Prize: $1200 cash
Recs:
Prizes: 1st, 2nd, 3rd TBA ( not cash)

Spectators:
Free, we welcome spectators, they can be at start and finish and roam city if they choose.
However, they will have to pay for food at the after party
Parking:
There is parking available, however we recommend carpooling your team.
Post Party:
An after party with food, drinks, music, awards and fun! The racers make the party the best! Photos from the race.
Other:
Our Capital One Race for Kids in 2013 was a big success and raised $27,000 in support of Boys and Girls Clubs of Kawartha Lakes! A big THANK YOU to our participating teams and the many who pledged the racers, our sponsors, the volunteers, and all those who worked so hard to make it a success
Funds raised through Capital One Race for Kids 2014 will help support our Active Living, Nutrition and Academic Support programs for children and youth in Kawartha Lakes. For more information about Boys and Girls Clubs of Kawartha Lake.
Team:
Teams are made up of 4 people.
All team members must complete the race together from start to finish.
Teams should be made up of people who are good at mental, physical and fun challenges. A good cross section will be a useful strategy for the race.
