Gretna Gritty This event is a 5k mud run with 15 obstacles set in the beautiful rugged terrain of Gretna Glen. Participants can expect to encounter mud, water, fire, rocks, earth, and climbs that excite the mud runner in us all! Our 5k Walk-A-Thon is at 10:00 in between the competitive and non competitive heats - where walkers can walk beside the Gritty and check out the fun. NEW this year, is a kids run - 'the Nitty Gritty'which gets kids (5-11 years old) in on the action with a 1 mile fun run and leaves them with a sweet headband to celebrate their accomplishment. All runners, and walkers can expect lunch or breakfast (depending on your time of run), a t-shirt, and memories to last a lifetime.

Our Goal:
Have an AMAZING event with the BEST course around & Raise $75,000 for Gretna Glen's 'Pathways to the Future' finance initiative. All proceeds for this event, excluding the costs of participation, will go directly toward Gretna Glen Camp & Retreat Center's 'Pathway to the Future' Initiative. We seek to cast off our burden of debt so that camp can continue free of financial struggle, transforming lives for many years to come. Our goal this year is to have at least 600 runners and raise more than $75,000! With your help, we can make this come true.

Course Description:

This event is a 5k mud run with 19+ obstacles set in the beautiful, rugged terrain of the Mt. Gretna area. Participants can expect to encounter mud, water, fire, rocks, earth, and climbs that excite the mud runner in us all!
We will also host a 5k Walk-A-Thon the same day, and the ""Nitty Gritty"" kids fun run which gets kids (5-11 years old) in on the action with a 1 mile fun run.

Teams for the Gritty fall under two basic categories: Competitive, and Non-Competitive. When registering for either type of event, you will be given the option to create or sign up on a team.
