Course Description:

Our obstacle course (PANDEMIC) consists of a 5k course with 13 obstacles that have been selected especially for this event. They will range from easy to difficult. However, we want everyone to have a safe and enjoyable time, so they will not be impossible to accomplish.

The Wisconsin Zombie Mud Run is your chance to prepare for the apocalypse in this thrilling endurance race for your life that pits you against pandemic (obstacle course) and the zombie horde. Face your fears and try to survive the pandemic. Your mission: successfully navigate the 5K course and all 13 obstacles, while attempting to avoid the multitude of zombies and losing all 3 of your life lines. Crossing the finish line with at least 1 life line intact is all that stands between you and future greatness.

Aid Stations:

Staff is on site to administer first aid and get you back into the race if possible. If you are unable to continue, unfortunately we cannot refund your entry fee. In the event that our staff cannot give you the necessary first aid, you may opt to be transported to the nearest hospital. If you do go to the hospital, the responsibility of this decision rests entirely with you and any costs that may be incurred.

Awards:

A survival medal

Other:

Baggage check (Gear Check) will be available for participants during the race (please do not bring any valuables). Gear Check will close promptly at 5:00pm.
Make sure all runners are 14 years of age or older by May 17, 2014 in order to participate.
Bring a towel and change of clothes (participants will be covered in slime, mud and other foreign substances after the race). We will have Decontamination Stations on-site with “Biohazard Clean Rooms” for changing after your Outbreak so you can clean up and enjoy the rest of the event.
Consider wearing costumes, they are both welcomed and encouraged. What better way to identify your team of family and friends and confuse the zombies?
Safe zones will be designated throughout the course, which are off limits to the Zombie menace.
A 20-square-foot area before and after every obstacle and the two HYDRATION stations will be considered safe zones. Zombies cannot attack in these areas or on any obstacles.
An additional safe zone of 15 feet in circumference will be located around each of the two vaccination stations. Course stewards will monitor all the safe zones.

You will be given three lifelines at registration. Prior to the start of your assigned “Outbreak” your lifelines must be worn on the outside of your clothes and they must remain visible to course officials while you are on the course. If during your outbreak the zombie horde claims all of your lifelines, fear not, all hope is not lost.
There will be two “Vaccination Stations” on the course where you can seek a “vaccine” by the staff at those locations. If you successfully reach one of these stations staff will administer a vaccine which is equal to one additional life line.
Loss of all lifelines DOES NOT instantly transform you into the Walking (running) Dead, time is your enemy at this point and your only hope lies with finding one of these vaccination stations prior to the finish line. Failure to cross the finish line with one lifeline still intact will be the death of you.
Try to arrive early and stay late! And most importantly – HAVE FUN!
