Crawl over obstacles and through mud pits at Buck Hill. Conquer over 25 obstacles on a 5k or 10k course with friends for the race of your life!
Our obstacles are designed so you can conquer them on your own but it's always nice to have a teammate help push you over these huge walls. Even the competitive athletes will struggle and instead of a penalty when you can't conquer an obstacle, you just keep trying until you do! For open waves it's fine to skip an obstacle, but the competitive will be disqualified if they do.
Kids 5k race - For ages 9-15. Ages 9-13 must race with a parent. This course follows the regular 5k course.
5k race - Best for first timers and athletes that want to have a great time. If you can jog 3 miles and do a couple pushups and sit ups, you can do our 5k course! You'll be ready to slosh in the mud, jump over 6 foot high walls, 12 foot high rope walls, and 16 foot high cargo nets.
10k race - If the short course sounds too easy, get ready for a tougher course with 5-7 miles and over 20 obstacles to really challenge you. This is for athletes that want a tougher course and more obstacles.
Little Monkey - Each event will have a Little Monkey .5-1.0 mile kids race for youngsters of any age that love mud! Signup for the Little Monkey is race day only and is $20 cash. The course will feature: mud, small walls, balance beams, tires, and more of the fun obstacles that adults get to play on, but for kids only. Adults are free to run along the course with their kids. 45 minutes after the last adult we will start the kids race. Each Little Monkey finisher will receive: t-shirt, silicon wristband, finisher medal.
There are aid stations every 1-2 miles with water. There are volunteers at each obstacles with radio contact to medical and event staff. At the finish line you'll receive water and bananas, and samples from our vendors.
The aid stations will have water only. If you prefer electrolyte fluids, gels, etc., please plan to carry your own supplies.
The fastest elite female and male athletes in the 5k and 10k distances will be awarded: 1st place - $200, 2nd place - $100, 3rd - $50.
We create a finish area that includes many exciting obstacles for spectators to watch their family and friends on.
There is no charge for spectators at our events and we encourage you to get a cold beverage, grab a bite to eat and hang out!
Parking at most venues is $10 per vehicle, please carpool and bring cash.
There is music, food and beer. Most food vendors accept cash only.
This is a race and all athletes will be timed! Your time will be slower than a 5k or 10k race, but it's always nice to see how you rank compared to fellow athletes.
We use chip timing so you can see how fast you really are and we provide you with a free printable finisher certificate online after the race.
Proceeds from Terrain Race: Tampa support several local organizations. We want the money you pay for this race to stay in the local community and help some great organizations.
