Escape the Chase Have you ever watched a scary movie and wondered how your adrenaline will kick in if you had to race for your life? Well, this is your opportunity to do so. This is an action packed race with 20+ obstacles, zombies at every turn, and every changing terrain. The only difference, is that in this race, you can have additional chances with lifelines that will help you complete your tasks and make it out alive. When you finish you have access to a full out PARTY! Live bands will entertain you as you finally have a chance to sit down and eat some good BBQ, and check out our awesome vendors who only come out when theres a party to be a part of!

Each participant will be given an arm band before the mud run event. As you run through the mud and obstacles you will be given the chance to gather lifelines(ribbon) and attach them to your arm band. At each lifeline station you will be given the opportunity to obtain one lifeline. We say opportunity because the zombies will not make it easy for you. You will be constantly under siege from the grim reaper and his followers trying to steal your life(ribbon) away so BEWARE zombies are lurking! You can obtain more than one lifeline throughout the course but only ONE at each lifeline station. You are not allowed to take other participant’s lifeline or pick them up off the ground except at lifeline stations.

Racers who manage to finish this 5k mud run obstacle course with at least one lifeline intact will be considered alive, while those who finish without a lifeline will have run themselves to death but on the bright side, they’ll be able to accurately describe the afterlife to whoever will listen.

Course Description:

Feel your anxiety raise as the grim reaper releases you onto a 5k course of chaos. Your worst nightmare will seem like a fairytale as you drag yourself in and out of mud pits and hurl your shaking body over obstacle after obstacle. You will face everything from mindless, lumbering brutes, to lightning-fast, cunning predators driven forward by an insatiable hunger for your lifelines. The real question is will you escape the chase or run to death! In your race packet you will be given an arm band to wear. As you enter and run through the course you will be given opportunities to pick up lifelines. These lifelines will attach to your arm band and will represent your life. As you are trying to pick up your lifelines, the haunted course will definitely surprise you as followers of death are lurking at every corner to steal your lifelines. If you have at least one lifeline at the end of the mud run course you will be considered alive if not you will have run to death.
Obstacles may include:

• Graveyard Mounds(***lifeline opportunity): 20 foot dirt mounds will get you warmed up for what lies ahead
• Through the Trenches: commando crawl through the mud trenches or risk the barbed wire above
• Swamp Time: the mud just keeps getting deeper and deeper
• Balance Beam: walk across a 20 foot balance beam but be careful your shoes are muddy
• Roll in the Hay: if you didn’t think you were dirty enough think again hay and mud go great together
• Field of Dreams(***lifeline opportunity): monsters are waiting so don’t let the lifelines scattered all around distract you
• Pyramid of Death: up and over the pyramid you go
• Firing Range: another commando crawl but you better keep low the black plastic over head is the only thing protecting you from the paint ball firing squad above.
• 50/50(***lifeline opportunity): 50 yd dash while carrying a 50 lb sack or smaller competitor
• Death by Hanging: climb across the rope ladder but be careful the monsters are below
• Monster Mash(***lifeline opportunity): the mallets our monsters have been given are not deadly but I would avoid at all cost
• Ring of Fire: of course we have to have fire to jump over
• Black Hole(***lifeline opportunity): this 150 foot water slide will help wash off some of the mud and finish with a splash

Awards:

Awards will be presented at noon. Top 3 overall males and females. Awards will be given to the top three best and worst costume. Must be present to receive awards. Awards will not be mailed.

Parking:

There will generally be a $10 parking fee, but this varies by location so check specific location for mud run event details.

Post Party:

Post-race party with music, food, and vendors. There will be a battle of the bands.

Other:

A portion of our Phoenix Event proceeds will be donated to Make a Wish Foundation and Feed My Starving Children charities.
If you have the desire to follow in the footsteps of the Grim Reaper and to steal the lifelines of our participants than you have found your calling. You will run, chase, scare, and steal the lives away from our participants. You are not able to push, shove, trip or harm our participants! You will receive a free t-shirt, help in your demon transformation, and food and drink. Wear a frightening costume and we will have some fake blood and a few make-up artists on hand!
If you skip an obstacle or don’t complete it then you will not be eligible for prizes. It will be your responsibility to notify the race officials at the end of the race.
participants 14 and above are eligible to register. You must have a parent or legal guardian sign a waiver form. In the instance that a parent or guardian cannot attend the event, please be sure to bring a signed waiver form to the event on race day.
There will be a bag check and a rinse off area available.

Team:

You can always form a personal team and coordinate costumes with others but there won’t be any official registration of teams.
