Course Description:
Obstacles are well within the challenges of most youth and their age category. There will be elements of crawling, jumping, balance, scaling, endurance, uneven surfaces and MUD. Some will be relatively easy, others a bit more challenging.
Obstacles are standard within the industry, but do carry an element of risk. Racers may skip any obstacle. Note that any obstacles skipped or received assistance from will disqualify runner from awards (they may finish).
New for 2021 are more age brackets, gender brackets for 10+, and differing age courses.
Age (as of race day) & Gender Brackets; Co-Ed: 4-5, 6-7, & 8-9 years of age; Male & Female: 10-11, 12-13, & 14-15 years of age.
In the tradition of obstacle racing exact course details will be released about one week prior to the race. The following are rough approximations:
4-5 Year-Olds- .25 Mile 8-12 Obstacles (mud wade, no mud crawl)
6-9 Year-Olds- .5 Mile 15-20 Obstacles
10-15 Year-Olds- .6 Mile 17-22 Obstacles
Team Racing, 6-15 Year-Olds- .6 Mile 17-22 Obstacles with some twists.
Awards:
Top 3 in each division. Remember you are time racing others in your age divisions that are in different wave starts. Late entries may be excluded from awards.
Parking:
Parking is mostly street parking and we strongly suggest you give yourself ample time.
You may access the race from either 36th Ave. or 37th Ave., both adjacent to the Maple Neighborhood Center.
Post Party:
There will be a free Community FUN Day event following the race from 11am-4pm. This family event is a collaborative effort by the Sacramento Adventure Playground, La Familia, 916 Ink, Crocker Science Center, ARTners and Powerhouse Science Center.
Other:
This event is a fundraiser for the Adventure Playground. 100% of the funds goes towards sponsoring the Adventure Playground.

Saturdays, 1-2pm, Sept. 11, 18, 25 and Oct. 2. ($25) Ages 6-15
Saturdays, 2:15-3:15pm, Sept. 18, 25 and Oct. 2. ($20) Ages 6-15
Saturday, Oct. 2, 9am-10am, 6-15 years of age.($15) All Ages (4-15)
Saturday, Oct. 2, 10:15am-11:15am, Ages 6-15 ($15)
Team:
Join with some friends and do it again! Teams of 3-5 runners, ages 6-15, will do the full course, with some changes. These “changes” will be in the warm-up area for practicing the day of. They will have a focus of teamwork.
The 3rd Place runner will be the team’s time. Any team member not completing an obstacle must stop. Run as individuals? Assist each other? Sacrifice a runner? What’s your strategy?
Kids Race:
The Dirty Kid Obstacle Race is for kids aged 4-15 years.
