G1 – easy obstacles for the young or inexperienced participant

G3 – extreme obstacles to test the most elite athletes

Any participant who successfully completes all G3 obstacles, will earn free entry into a future event and will have their photo posted to our website.

Our goal at Goliathon is to bring aid to those in need around the world. For our 2014 and 2015 events, we have chosen to support charity: water, a non-profit organization bringing clean, safe drinking water to people in developing countries. With the proceeds from our 2014 events, we were able to fund clean water systems for two schools – one in Bangladesh and one in Nepal – to provide clean water to approximately 450 students. In May 2015, we raised enough money to fund three water projects, including two community wells in Ethiopia and another clean water system for a school in Nepal. Once complete, these three water projects will serve about 700 people and are in memory of our youngest team member, Luke Horton, son of Goliathon co-founder Doug Horton, who died unexpectedly in his sleep on November 12, 2014. For our October 2015 event we funded BioSand Filters for 1,000 families in Cambodia. These filters kill 99% of bacteria in dirty water, making it safe to drink.

Team:

You can run as an individual or create a team. Teams of 10 or more may be eligible for a $5 refund per team member. Teams of 20 or more may be eligible for a $10 refund per team member. Teams of 30 or more may be eligible for a $15 refund per team member. Team refunds do not apply to super early bird pricing.

Team Competition: All teams registered with a minimum of three females and three males will be automatically enrolled in our team competition. Once enrolled, your team will be scored based on your obstacle success rate. When you and your team members arrive at a tiered Goliathon obstacle, each of you must choose the tier that you believe will most help your team.
• Successful completion of a G3 obstacle earns your team 5 points.
• Successful completion of a G2 obstacle earns your team 2 points.
• Successful completion of a G1 obstacle earns your team 1 point.

No points are given for an unsuccessful attempt, and only one attempt per team member, per obstacle, unless otherwise noted on the course. At the end of the mission, we will total up the points earned by the top three females and top three males from each team. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams.
