Conquer your fear of muck, madness and mayhem and embrace your love of friends, fitness and fun. Crush your inner wimp as you crank your adrenaline to push yourself and your fellow Heroes to the finish (without spilling over laughing). Then celebrate your achievement with other mud-lovers and spectators at the post-race Mud Bash featuring a BBQ, bevies, live music and more. If you’re mad about mud, this is your run.

Have been doing this race for a few years, and love making the 7hr trip to do it!! It’s fun, and we make it an experience!!
Fun, but Unsafe
We have done Mud Hero races in Red Deer 2 years in a row. It's a great fun race to do with family and friends, no matter your experience or fitness level. One of the rigs came apart and caused some injury to my fiance, luckily it wasn't serious but is a concern for us for future events. We did not receive much in terms of reassurance from Mud Hero and the attendee at the obstacle did not report the incident or seem to know how to react when he came crashing to the ground. All around a good event but safety clearly isn't a priority - use at your own caution.
Did it for the first time this year with a friend, had an excellent time!!
We had so much fun! I ran through it like I was a child in a candy store! Never even noticed that it was 6k!
Not a huge amount more obstacles than the 6K. Had a great time though and the showers seem to improve every year which is great! All around good time. Would prefer the 10K to be early in the morning because it's harder and always unbelievably hot out on the day of the runs in Winnipeg! Early afternoon is a killer.
This was my first time doing Mud Run and it was an absolute blast! The course was great! Went with some friends and it was a great time! For surely brought us closer together not just as a team, but as friends! 10/10 would recommend!

The best introduction
Never run a mud run or obstacle course race (OCR)?
Start with Mud Hero. Family friendly, introductory challenge level, lots of mud and lots of fun. Been doing it since 2012, running every Ottawa Mud Hero and Ultra. Once you add all the other OCRs to the mix, you still come back to Mud Hero for a fun training run.
It's been great every event, year after year.
