Vendor

Nov 25, 2014 by Sams Creek

We were a vendor for the run in Chantilly, VA. We are a small family owned portable toilet business. We gave them a very fair price (even priced better than the locals, as we are located over an hour away). We worked with them on other events & had no payment problems. It came to my attention that they were about a week late. When I went to call & e-mail both had been deleted. I have contacted Epic Brands & was told they have no affiliation with the Running Dirty but if I faxed over the invoice she would guide it to the right person . . however they have no affiliation? hmmm. I understand people's extreme frustration in being out the money & not being refunded. They paid for something they never even received. I'm sure they would have been truly upset if they had paid for our service but we never delivered. As a small business sometimes $1,000 can make or break you, especially when you are just getting started. These are the types of companies that ruin our trust in other people & make our contracts stricter. They should truly be embarrassed, as a company & individuals.

Scam artists

The race is run by Mike Stamper. He is one of the owners of Epic Brands out of Elkridge, MD.

Company is a scam

Sep 25, 2014 by JJ

1200 people signed up and got screwed
How can they get away with not giving refunds when they cancel the event? I guess by going into hiding.

Is it even possible for them to take the money and run???? I had mine corporate sponsored so I guess these guys must have taken off into hiding in another country because the slew of law suits to follow them must be out of control. What a shame, I did this last year and enjoyed it ....absolutely unbelievable.

Info?

Sep 24, 2014 by Chris

Does anyone here have info on why this can Cancelled? The event in Facebook was deleted yesterday and the website has the following message:
Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, we are no longer holding the Running Dirty race scheduled for September 27, 2014, nor will we be continuing to operate the business. We regret to inform you that we will not be able to grant refunds or transfers for the race. We want to thank you for your support for Running Dirty.

Running low budget

Sep 14, 2014 by Adam

Very unorganized and simply missing the key ingredients found in a solid OCR. The race combined the participants of both the "Armageddon ambush" and the "running dirty" into one race, and I use the term "race" lightly. No chip timing, actually no timing at all. So if you paid the extra 20 bucks to run the elite wave, you got robbed....no timing chip, no accountability of who placed when. It would have been better off to pay for the next wave. Website told the participants to arrive an hour and half before their wave, yet the race staff didn't open the parking till 8....so the 9am wave, the "elite" wave got screwed again. Course was 3.5 miles, not 4, like the website stated, and the obstacles were low budget. And one key question: Who gives cotton t shirts anymore!!! Bottom line, if you want the full affect of a sprint OCR do warrior dash or spartan or even a savage race, but if you are looking to run a low key, low budget race then running dirty is for you. Please don't pay for the elite wave, it's a total waste of money.
