Fake News!

Jan 19, 2019 by Mud Factor
Event Name: All events

When I read the reviews here about our events it would make me think our events are absolutely terrible! But when you take into account that there are 66 reviews total on here out of over 500,000 people that have attended Mud Factor it starts to look a bit misleading. As you know, happy people aren't often the ones leaving reviews in the first place(try Yelp).
Are all of our events awesome, of course not. There are so many variables to special events such as weather, staffing, failed deliveries etc etc etc. NO MUD RUN is perfect including Tough Mudder Spartan Race or Warrior Dash. Most Mud Runs that started since 2009 are long gone, out of business years ago. If any Mud Run brand with events all over the US is still posting a full schedule of events going on 10 years now it means that their event is sustainable, plain and simple. Mud Factor has an over 90% satisfaction rate from our participants. We put on a very good entry level, family friendly mud run at a very modest price point.

Money wasted

Signed up 2 days prior to event due to pending hurricane...wanted to make sure it was still going to happen. Day of the event Mud Factor cancelled due to an abundance of caution...which is fine. Did they reschedule the follow week or month? No! They rescheduled the event for August 2019! A full year later! I have moved from NC and not close to transfer to another event. Refused to provide refund...stating that terms and condition clearly spells it out. Be careful if you can't make their'll never see your money again. What a scam of an organization.

I’ve done several organized runs over the years. So basically I know how it goes. Charging $15 for parking then demanding cash. If no cash surcharge on the credit card. A fee to be a spectator to watch them take off then the finish’re charging to watch? Who does that....Crooks!! The organizer is clearly cheap nothing offered a bottle of water, energy drinks no fruit Nothing! Cheap & Cheap!
Don’t wAste your time or money not worth a red cent!

Waste of Money/Carnies

Nothing Mud about this. Pretty much a 5K with about 90% dry trail 10% shallow mud and a few crappy cargo nets to climb over. $50 for a shitty course plus they gyp you at every turn $10 for parking, $5 bag check that was not secure or watched. No gatoraid but 1 cup of water each at the 1/2 way point. Nothing in your swag bag except a $1 cheapo bandanna and henna tattoo. Want a shirt to advertise their run? It's $20. These people are like Carnies, peddling their crap from town to town.

Good Healthy Group Event

Looking for a last minute event that will leave a good memory...this is it! I made it a family event last year & doing the same this bringing friends! It is not an over-the-top event, but good physical fun & better than staying home!
Give it a shot!

Shouldn’t call it a race with several obstacles. Cargo net twice, water on the slide was NOT working so we couldn’t go down it and that was what interested us. They were packing up before our run was over. Very disappointing. Would not do this again. Waste of time and money

5k with 5 obticales that were mostly cargo nets what a joke had to run same twice to get 5k for lousy medal. Most disappointing mud run ever, good for them making money, 65 to run crappy course then 10 bucks for parking then 10 bucks per person to watch the start hahah give me a break, maybe I'll start a mud run and get rich, will never fall for it again.

Save your money

Wow. We signed up for the Family Run to do with my nephew because he loves to do runs. He is four and from the site, it seemed like a good one for him to do, as he had done another mud run last year.
They really didn't have the variety of obstacles as they advertise. They basically had cargo climbs and walls. They didn't even have the big slide for them to go down (which by the way, he saw on the site and that is what got him excited to do it). They took the slide down before all the heats started. Also, the even itself was not organized. There were minimal signage for people to find where to part. A line developed with people making u-turns because the address led to a closed gate. They charged for EVERYTHING! I get charging for parking, but we were robbed, being charged to watch. You were only able to watch the beginning and end of the race. You can't see 90% of the course. HUGE WASTE OF MONEY!

We were contacted to be a food vendor at the event. They agreed via email to our minimum. We completely rearranged our schedule to be at their event. Then when I sent over the contract for the minimum they conveniently had someone else that booked a truck instead and we were no longer needed. Super Shady business. When I emailed they about it they never responded. Sounds like they don't care about anyone but themselves! Very disappointing!!!

Let's start with the good points. The track personnel were very nice and accommodating. The event was well organized. The DJ was on point!!! The track was small so you had to run the course twice to get the full 5K. Which would be fine if...(now the critique)..very little variety in the obstacles. They were all pretty much a climbing wall and A-frame cargo net climbs. Other than that there was a big slide and a mud pit to crawl through. If they had more variety in the obstacles (and more of them) it would have been a great event. We did Muckfest last year and that one had a lot of different obstacles. I would suggest, to the folks who organize Mud Factor, to take a look at other mud runs for ideas for different obstacles.

The Ultimate Mud Run, Obstacle Race and Adventure Race Guide , USA 2.0 5.0 77 77 Attended Mud Factor in Escondido with my family and we all had a really good time. Plenty of mud, obstacles were not intimidating and the overall it seemed very organized. The MC w
