Savage Race is the most badass mud and obstacle race event yet. Our unique courses feature big, rugged obstacles spread out over 4 – 6 treacherous miles. This is one tough race, and we guarantee that it will completely kick your ass. We warn you that this race is not for everyone, and it's definitely not your average family fun run or ‘mud race'. If you're afraid of extreme obstacles, fire, mud, and bruises, DO NOT sign up for Savage Race. But if you're tough, you need to prove it. Are you a Savage? Prove it at Savage Race.

We lovingly call our participants Savages because we believe you have to find your inner barbarian to power through our intense 4-6 mile races. Some of our most intense obstacles have include the Shriveled Richard ice bath, the incredibly steep Sawtooth Bars, a leap over rows of fire and of course crawling through thick mud under barbed wire. Savage Race prides itself on having the biggest obstacles and featuring the most per mile; a true Savage Challenge. We also scout for the gnarliest terrain available in your area to offer participants the added challenge of treacherous terrain.

At Savage Race we believe that we deserve to play just as hard as we work, and our Savages certainly deserve it after completing one of our races. That's why at the end of each event we reward participants with frosty beer, delicious barbeque and awesome music at what we like to call the “Outrageous Savage After Party.”

Our mission at Savage Race is to provide endurance enthusiasts with something even bigger than the race itself. We want participants to push themselves until they think they can run no further, climb no higher and go no faster. Being a Savage means pushing yourself to the ultimate limit, and the high you will feel after completing one of our events is something that you will never forget.

An OCR must!

Jun 19, 2017 by Dave K.

Savage Race keeps on improving with their Best in Class obstacles. The event is well run, has a great finisher shirt/medal not to mention COACH PAIN at the start this year! I do agree with another reviewer that they have mark the trails better. The kids race(Savage JR) needs more obstacles, mud and monkey bars. See you next year!

Such a great race

My first OCR race. It was amazing. The entire event was well organized and well executed. Packet pick up was easy. Volunteers were friendly and knowledgeable. The only negative, and it wasn't even that bad, was that they advertise "we have showers", well I dont consider a hose laying on the ground a shower. It certainly helped with rinsing off the mud, but its not a shower.I will be back in September.

Savage is awesome!!

Event Name: Ohio Savage Race 2016

What isn't to like about Savage Race? The registration is easy, it's cheaper than some of the other big OCRs out there, it's well organized, and the obstacles are fun and challenging. The hills for this event definitely add an element of suck to the race, but I would definitely do Savage again!

Top 3 Race For Seasoned OCRs

Jun 27, 2016 by KOASEV

Although I enjoyed last year's Savage Race, I didn't sign up to the last minute this year. Boy I'm glad I did! Savage Race gets it. From the start with their hype man, use of terrain and their new obstacles, it all made for an even better race this year. My only "complaints" are they need to mark the trails better. A lot of the obstacles didn't have anyone from Savage Race stationed and the bottlenecking at Colossus needs to be improved. Will definitely not wait till the last minute to register in 2017.

I've run every GA Savage for years and will do my best to never miss this race. Same location, but the mix it up every time. They make great use of the land, invent new obstacles and mix up the order to make it a unique experience each time. Best of all, they have 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals for Age Group competitors! Who does that?! Only Savage!

Most creative and new obstacles

Apr 21, 2016 by Beni Gifford

5 stars hands freakin down. I compete in this sport as a full-time competitive athlete, and Savage race is commonly known as the race that's doing it right. From the moment you're parking your vehicle till the day you are sifting through your photos online with drool running down your face, Savage race is top notch. Fantastic send off guy for each wave, very creative, Innovative, new hard obstacles all the time without taking away the old ones, great festival area challenges and food. This is one of the top 4 OCR's in the world in my opinion.

Best OCR ever

I have ran over a hundred races and Savaged by far is one of my favorites. Always consistent with awesome obstacles that will test you. The after party is awesome as well. This is one race that never disappoints.

My favorite event. I never miss a Savage in Florida.

Do this race!

Apr 21, 2016 by Brian H

Over the last year and a half, I've done 15-20 OCRs run by a half dozen or so organizations. Savage Race is by far my favorite. Their events are well organized, challenging, and more fun than should be allowed by law. If for some reason I could only do 1 OCR a year, hands down it would be Savage Race. Sam Abbitt and the team always bring their A game and provide a wonderful experience for not only seasoned racers but newbies as well. My son has also done the Savage Jr race and had a great time. It's really a great experience for the entire family. Don't think about it, just do it. You won't be sorry.

The Ultimate Mud Run, Obstacle Race and Adventure Race Guide , USA 4.6 5.0 54 54 Great event and very well organized. Staff were brilliant. Everyone I talked to pretty much summed it up as "it's so awesome to finally get out and do an OCR event" Yes there were
