Mud Hero Founders Announce Toronto City Hall’s Obstacle Course Takeover 365 Sports Events Inc. is proud to announce the very first Concrete Rush Ultimate Obstacle Challenge taking over Nathan Phillips Square April 28th & 29th.
An OCR event unlike any other, Concrete Rush features two days of races for daring Toronto athletes centered in the heart of the city. The 2km course will feature 15 obstacles spread throughout Nathan Phillips Square and surrounding City Hall turning downtown Toronto into an urban playground.
The race will act as a qualifier for the 2017 Obstacle Course Racing World Championships and participants will have the opportunity to fundraise for Concrete Rush’s official charity, Special Olympics Canada.
“Concrete Rush is the essence of the urban lifestyle, fast-paced, competitive, challenging. For those unfamiliar with the obstacle course racing world, it’s inspired by military training but we’ve given it a superhero training twist and put it in the heart of downtown Toronto. We didn’t just want to do something nobody in Canada has ever done before, we wanted to make a race that was so fun you’d think it was imagined by kids with challenges meant for adults.” – Adam Ruppel, Founder of Concrete Rush & Mud Hero.
Over 5,000 participants are expected to run the course over Friday, April 28th and Saturday, April 29th. This event marks the first official collaboration of the newly minted merger of the Mud Hero Team & 365 Sports Events, an exciting landmark featuring two major players in the OCR world.
“We’ve created a grown up jungle gym to challenge the fittest and fiercest athletes in Toronto. Nothing like this has ever been done and it’s going to be really exciting for OCR lovers and athletes new to the sport. We’re stoked to offer this opportunity as a qualifier for OCR World Championships which we are excited to be hosting again October 2017 at Blue Mountain Resort.” – Jesse Fulton, President of 365 Sports Events Inc.
