Being used to the competitive atmosphere in most of the OCR races I have participated in, I thought I would start off the 2017 racing season with the race that is made to get the first time OCR runners into the fold, Tough Mudder.
I wanted to begin the 2014 running season with a few races to get my family involved in some type of racing to get their year off to a good start, and the Ridiculous Obstacle Challenge (ROC) happened to be available. So I decided to give it a try and take my son along to see how the course held up to our normal OCR standards.

For me, the best section of the book was the ‘Turning You Backyard into a Training Center". I am always looking at ways to build or provide ways to get more of an actual race experience at home, and this section of the book gave me a ton of tools to get my training above and beyond what I thought it could be. I will be working on my own wall very shortly with the easy steps provided in this book.
