BattleFrog Appoints Ramiro Ortiz as Chief Executive Officer

MIAMI, FLA. (July 3, 2015) – Ramiro Ortiz, an experienced business and sports executive, has been appointed chief executive officer of BattleFrog LLC, the obstacle course race series inspired by Navy SEALs. Ortiz previously served as a business consultant to the BattleFrog board of directors and, in that role, performed a thorough analysis of the organization’s operations.

Ortiz joined BattleFrog in March 2015, after a successful career as president of two major Florida banks. During his career, he has promoted over 50 sporting events and is currently a member of the prestigious Orange Bowl Committee in Miami, Florida. He has served as chairman of the Miami local organizing committee for the Sunshine State Games. He was appointed chairman of the Sports Council of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce.

Ortiz is a member of the Florida Boxing Hall of Fame as a boxing historian, and also served as chairman of the Florida State Boxing Commission. He was elected chairman of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and as co-chairman of the 1999 United Way campaign. Ortiz succeeds Don Mann who left BattleFrog in May to pursue other opportunities.

BattleFrog’s board of directors appreciates Don’s leadership during our first year of operations and wish him the best with his new endeavors. His contributions to the organization helped us earn our well-deserved reputation for presenting world-class events.

“My main goal is to grow BattleFrog to become the leader in the world of obstacle course racing,” stated Ortiz. “We have exciting plans for the future and will soon be announcing our 2016 calendar of events.”

Oritz is available for media interviews. Requests for interviews can be submitted to Curran Public Relations via DanCurran@CurranPR.com.
