She founded DirtinYourSkirt.com, an OCR community for women as well as former contributing editor for Mud and Obstacle Magazine and industry expert for About.com. She authored the book Obstacle Race Training.

Rugged Maniac Changes Policy on Timing Chips

Yesterday, many athletes who had already signed up for a 2017 Rugged Maniac received the following email from Rob Dickens, the co-founder of Rugged Maniac. In the email participants who opted for a timing chip (an additional $10.00) were informed that moving forward the company would be removing timing chips and instead track athletes based on finish position similar to the way Warrior Dash operates their competitive heat.

Warrior Dash enters its 9th season in 2017. This year Warrior Dash is out with new obstacles, t-shirts, medals and more. Warrior Dash continues to be one of the best events for those looking to jump into obstacle racing and mud runs. For the competitive athlete, Warrior Dash continues to have their timed first heat of the day which is an OCR World Championship Qualifier.

For Those Who Would Health Grant

For Those Who Would announced in December the creation of a Healthcare Grant for the new year. The application period for the grant has been extended until January 7th for submissions. The $1,500 grant is made possible to help ease the burden of healthcare costs for one individual in need.

Top Honors from Mud Run Guide Best of OCR Awards go to OCR World Championship

Mud Run Guide held the third annual Best of OCR Awards this fall. The process began with a nomination period in which OCR enthusiasts nominated their favorites in twenty-four unique categories. From a list of over 9,500 nominations, the team at MRG worked to pair down the list to the finalist and opened voting. With over 65,000 votes from over 6,100 individuals, the winners were chosen.
