Civilian Military Combine Announces Second Venue

Civilian Military Combine the first of the hybrid events in obstacle course racing announced today the second venue for revamped 2016 race schedule. The second event as part of the company relaunch will be held at the Pepsi Amphitheater at Fort Tuthill in Flagstaff, Arizona on October 1st. Civilian Military Combine combines both functional fitness as well as obstacle racing to create a truly unique two-part event to challenge athletes on multiple levels.

De Sena hosted a pop up workout for Spartan enthusiasts and anyone else who wanted to break up their workday with a quick lunchtime workout.

If you have ever been at the finish line of an obstacle race or mud, run you have probably heard someone utter those words after crossing the finish line caked in mud, bruised, and often bleeding from a scrape earned while on the course. We have all felt it at one time in our racing career, that rush of excitement after a, particularly challenging obstacle. We have all seen that face that a fellow racer makes when they finally get over that 8-foot wall or climb that rope. It's that intangible sense of excitement that can hardly be described and truly only felt by the participant.

Friday Night Lights to Reunite at Spartan Race

Yesterday, Marriot Rewards announced as part of their global partnership with Spartan Race that the cast of the popular NBC show, Friday Night Lights will reunite on the course at the Spartan Race outside of Chicago in June. The cast will train for the next month for the race on June 11th. In addition to the announcement of the global sponsorship. Marriott has picked up athletes Rose Wetzel and Ryan Kent who will be sharing training trips through the Marriott twitter handle.

Last Week in OCR: Mother’s Day Edition

If there was ever any doubt that the obstacle racing season was in full swing this weekend with over 50 races around the world happening at the same time put all doubts to rest. Both Spartan Race and Tough Mudder were in three different locations over the weekend as well as all the other major American series racing around the country. Internationally, XMan Race Series was in Toronto, Toughest in Sweden, Rat Race Dirty Weekend in the United Kingdom and more. Mother's Day Weekend did not stop many of the top athletes around the world from toeing the line. We bring you some of the highlights from the weekend in this week's Last Week in OCR.

Race Recap: Nevarest Team Report of Jeep Warrior #3

The Nevarest Team were at The Jeep Warrior Race in force! The race was hosted in Krugersdorp, about an hour away from the capital, Pretoria. We were a large crowd from Nevarest Team with Greg Avierinos, Michael Joubert, Michelle Meyer, Joshua de Jager, Kirsten Avierinos, Ruth Avierinos and Calen Hastie all competing. Greg, Michael, and Michelle did the Black Ops Elite, 15 km with 32 obstacles. This is the most difficult category with the biggest prize.
