Op-ed: European OCR Championships – How Many Rigs is Too Many Rigs

OCR European Championships took place over the weekend in Esbjerg, Denmark. The race featured a 4-Kilometer short course, 15-kilometer standard course, and 8-kilometer team race. The event was hosted by the European Obstacle Sports Federation under World OCR.

Race Review: Green Beret Challenge- Operator St. Louis

Green Beret Challenge, an Obstacle Course Race (OCR) series that includes a normal OCR style race (Operator), a four-person team challenge/race (Commando) and even endurance challenges that are 12 hours (XII) and 24 hours long (Behind Enemy Lines). However, they only run one event per weekend, and recently I got to experience the Operator near St. Louis, MO.

World OCR Announces Safe Sport Committee

World OCR, the Fédération Internationale de Sports d’Obstacles (FISO),  (formerly known as the IORF and other acronyms) has set up a new committee to ensure a safe sport for all athletes with the creation of Safe Sport Committee. The World OCR recently voted to form the committee and require the policies adopted by all national member federation and their members. The full press release below.

Race Review: Toughest Mudder East (Boston)

Last year Tough Mudder rolled out their eight-hour overnight Ultra-Obstacle Course Race (Ultra-OCR) series Toughest Mudder. Having done three events last year as part of the Toughest Mudder Series, I signed up to do the same thing this year, which concluded for me at Toughest Mudder East (Boston).

Race Recap: Spartan Chicago US National Series

Attending a Spartan National Championship series race is akin to attending a big Hollywood movie premiere.  The movie isn’t going to be different, the obstacles are all the same, but all the stars are there! It really was wonderful to see so many pioneering athletes mosey around the festival throughout the day.
