Indian Mud Run obstacle races, mud run, and OCR information, distance, cost, dates, calendar, discounts, obstacles, reviews, and more

The Indian Mud run is a very challenging obstacle course race through beautiful hills alongside spectacular rock formations. The Indian Mud Run is an official Obstacle Course Racing World Championship qualifier with the top 5 in each age group men and women qualifying for age group divisions and the top 3 overall men and women qualifying for Pro division.

The 2017 race will feature Dewayne Montgomery Coach Pain” as the start line motivator. New in 2017 the Indian Mud Run will offer 2 race lengths and a new start and finish line area. We also have a 3 lap option (20 miles-150 obstacles) and all 3 lap finishers earn an authentic American Indian made arrow upon completion.

The competitive waves will be 6 plus miles long with 50 plus obstacles. The non-competitive waves will be around a 5k length and offer close to 35 obstacles. The terrain is an obstacle itself and the course will challenge you with world class obstacles.

Some of the obstacles include 20’ cargo net climb, Swivel ladder climb, natural rock climb with ropes, steep hills, Net climb over ravine, Cliff climb on rope ladder, Log traverse, 165’ water slide, 20’ high climbing wall, mud pit and many more. The competitive course is mandatory obstacle completion with bands. The competitive course will have the above obstacles plus the weaver, Rig, walls, rappel, and end with the ¾ mile gauntlet of Skull valley, Irish table, Rope traverse, 40 foot monkey bars, Dragons back, Rope climb, Rig, Half pipe wall and slide into pond, Destroyer and Wall hanger. 4 of the gauntlet obstacles are signature obstacles from past Obstacle Course Racing World Championships and are used with permission from the obstacles owners.

The top 3 finishers in each 5 year age group will receive an authentic American Indian made Tomahawk but you must run in the competitive waves to be eligible for the Tomahawk. The top 15 in each age group will have their name on the back of the following year’s shirt. After the race you get a free can beer (not draft) and a free ride on our Blob pillow. Racers also get a cool medal, and a beautiful shirt. Shirts include the top 500 placers from the previous year’s race. We also have a separate kid’s course.

Our mission is to provide the best mud run possible. We strive to have the best course, a great shirt, a cool finisher’s medal, fun post-race entertainment and good food all at a fair price. We have an awesome course with spectacular rock formations, great views, super obstacles and easy access with a 4 lane highway less than a quarter mile away. Some of our best obstacles are very spectator friendly so bring a camera, some friends and a big smile.

IMR US BEST RACE

Jul 08, 2019 by Dennis McWhorter

Best race in North America.. Hubie experience in OCR has given the ability to put together a challenging course the athletic friendly environment. THE LEGEND ...THANK YOU FOR YOUR HARD WORK AND DEDICATION

The Bucklist

Jul 08, 2019 by Brandon Null

They call the Indian Mud Run the “bucket list” race. This nickname caught my attention a couple years ago so I started following the event. Unfortunately it never worked out for me to attend the event until this year. I have attended the NorAm Championships and World Championships the past two years and rumor was that IMR was just as good as these big events. Was all these rumors true?

Yes!! Indian Mud Run is the real deal!! The obstacle are challenging and the terrain is unforgiving! The atmosphere is energetic and welcoming!!

I traveled from Oklahoma to Ohio for the event and will be returning next year!!

Put this race at the top of your list!!

Jul 08, 2019 by Jason Williams

I have been to this race 3 years in a row and I live in Florida! Each time I have come, the race has gotten better and better! You get the small town local race feel, (with great people and even the mayor congratulating you on the finish) with a course that can go toe to toe with any of the big races, including NorAM and OCRWC. As a matter of fact, Indian Mud Run this year has surpassed every other race I’ve done. Hubie builds an amazing course with top notch obstacles, trails and terrain that are both beautiful and challenging, and best of all, listens and cares about all those running. He will listen to suggestions and improves with each year. He just gets it. And did I mention Coach Pain sends us off?? It doesn’t get any better than that. This race has definitely earned its place as a bucket list race and should be at the top of your list!!

It was my first time at Indian Mud run, I had a wonderful/ challenging race. It is definitely an obstacle heavy course, but very well laid out. I highly recommend this race and will be joining in next years race.

Great race!

First rate race! The scenery is amazing, the people great, the competition is well organized, and who doesn't want to win a tomahawk?!

Awesome race!

IMR is a fantastic race! The terrain is beautiful, the venue great, the people wonderful, the obstacles intense. Bucket list race!

Bucket List Race!!

Jul 08, 2019 by Dustin Radney

This is the third year running IMR and it just keeps getting better! The use of the terrain is incredible, the obstacles are top notch, the staff is super friendly and attentive, the merchandise is great quality and priced competitively, and the podium prizes are second to none. Every winner in the 5 year age group gets and authentic hand made tomahawk! This is one of those races that lean more towards the obstacles than the running. The obstacles are challenging, creative, and really fun! I come from Florida every year to run this and I'll definitely be back next year!!

BEST RACE EVER!!

Jul 07, 2019 by Kiley G

This is by far the best race I’ve ever done! I have run spartan, tough mudder, savage, bone frog, warrior dash, terrain race, etc. and this race is my absolute FAVORITE!!! It is an extremely challenging course but it is also a fun course! The obstacles are unique and fun but challenging! I absolutely LOVE this course! If I could only run one race a year I would definitely pick the Indian mud run!! If you haven’t run this course already, definitely sign up!! You won’t be disappointed!!

Spartan or IMR

Jul 07, 2019 by Robbie Dunn

Was between choosing to do the IMR OCR or the upcoming Spartan in Ohio. I choose IMR as it was my local event. Cost was cheaper than to do the Spartan but wasn't sure I would get the challenge I was looking for in the Spartan.

Within the first half mile I realized I may be taking on more than I bargained for (LOL). This course is beyond challenging and will certainly push you to your limits. I got stuck on several obstacles finding myself making multiple attempts to successfully complete the one I failed. This is not a negative. The reason we do OCR is for the challenge if they were all successfully completed on the first try is it really a challenge?

Strongly advise anyone who is considering this event to buy good equipment. A good OCR glove and shoes. Do not bring your daily sneakers or a cheap pair of trail shoes. I promise you will regret not being prepared and/or cheaping out.

F&#@ling Awesome!

Couldn't make it this year, but Indian Mud Run was, and is,
the very definition of an OCR race that you dream about..
