Indian Mud Run obstacle races, mud run, and OCR information, distance, cost, dates, calendar, discounts, obstacles, reviews, and more

The Indian Mud run is a very challenging obstacle course race through beautiful hills alongside spectacular rock formations. The Indian Mud Run is an official Obstacle Course Racing World Championship qualifier with the top 5 in each age group men and women qualifying for age group divisions and the top 3 overall men and women qualifying for Pro division.

The 2017 race will feature Dewayne Montgomery Coach Pain” as the start line motivator. New in 2017 the Indian Mud Run will offer 2 race lengths and a new start and finish line area. We also have a 3 lap option (20 miles-150 obstacles) and all 3 lap finishers earn an authentic American Indian made arrow upon completion.

The competitive waves will be 6 plus miles long with 50 plus obstacles. The non-competitive waves will be around a 5k length and offer close to 35 obstacles. The terrain is an obstacle itself and the course will challenge you with world class obstacles.

Some of the obstacles include 20’ cargo net climb, Swivel ladder climb, natural rock climb with ropes, steep hills, Net climb over ravine, Cliff climb on rope ladder, Log traverse, 165’ water slide, 20’ high climbing wall, mud pit and many more. The competitive course is mandatory obstacle completion with bands. The competitive course will have the above obstacles plus the weaver, Rig, walls, rappel, and end with the ¾ mile gauntlet of Skull valley, Irish table, Rope traverse, 40 foot monkey bars, Dragons back, Rope climb, Rig, Half pipe wall and slide into pond, Destroyer and Wall hanger. 4 of the gauntlet obstacles are signature obstacles from past Obstacle Course Racing World Championships and are used with permission from the obstacles owners.

The top 3 finishers in each 5 year age group will receive an authentic American Indian made Tomahawk but you must run in the competitive waves to be eligible for the Tomahawk. The top 15 in each age group will have their name on the back of the following year’s shirt. After the race you get a free can beer (not draft) and a free ride on our Blob pillow. Racers also get a cool medal, and a beautiful shirt. Shirts include the top 500 placers from the previous year’s race. We also have a separate kid’s course.

Our mission is to provide the best mud run possible. We strive to have the best course, a great shirt, a cool finisher’s medal, fun post-race entertainment and good food all at a fair price. We have an awesome course with spectacular rock formations, great views, super obstacles and easy access with a 4 lane highway less than a quarter mile away. Some of our best obstacles are very spectator friendly so bring a camera, some friends and a big smile.

A MUST DO RACE

Jul 05, 2019 by Joe Stotlar

This was my first year at Indian Mud Run, i generally do pretty well in races and didn’t expect this one to be much different. They all seem to blend together at this point. And then I got there. Racing with some insane athletes it took everything I had to keep up with them over the challenging and technical terrain. We weren’t but a mile in when I lost my band after my 15th (ish) attempt on Nuclear Ninja Rings. One of the first to the obstacle and the last to leave. Instantly my spirits were crushed but I knew I had to finish the race. So I pushed on. Mile after mile i conquered more and more obstacles. New obstacles, only seen at this race, challenging obstacles. At the end of the day I am so glad I went to this race, it may have been the hardest course I’ve ever ran with my worst placement but I can hands down say it is my favorite course of all time. From the people putting it on, to the runners and the venue, everything was simply amazing. I will be back year after year. Looking forward to challenging myself in new ways.

Bucketlist

Jul 05, 2019 by Laura Ramon

This was my first time running IMR a d I have to say it kicked my ass. One of the hardest runs I've done and one of the best hands down. There were many obstacles that I knew I could not do, yet accomplished. Can't wait to abuse my body again next year. The atmosphere was phenomenal and nothing beats hearing Coach Pain prior to any run..

Yep. My favorite race. A perfect distance. Obstacles of all kinds of difficulty. It has a little bit of everything. When you are done, you know you’ve completed something special.

how other races are measured

Jul 05, 2019 by Dennis Schneider

I am not a writer or an exceptional athlete but this is the race that I rank all other obstacle races by. This is my 3rd year for running IMR and it just keeps getting better. It is a race that can be run by the newest of racers and can still challenge the most exceptional of athletes.but the thing I like the most is the feeling of family , everyone is welcome and the whole community supports this race. I got the chance to spend a bit of time talking to the mayor of Coshocton this year and while he maybe didn't understand the whole OCR thing he was out there supporting Hubbie and his team and was amazed when he found out that me and the people I was with drove 6 hours just to do this race.
If you are looking for a must do race , YOU will not be disappointed

This race is so much fun which is one of the most challenging runs that I have done for the past two years. The obstacles are amazing but beyond that the terrain is wonderful difficult and beautiful at the same time. I can’t wait to race here in 2020

OCR Paradise

Jul 05, 2019 by Darcey Johnson

Most obstacles you will face at any OCR race that are surrounded by awesome scenery! Want to push your limits....this is the race to try and conquer. Challenging terrain and obstacles and the coolest awards bling you will ever receive. Class act race!

Awesome OCR Race

Jul 05, 2019 by Mario Johnson

One of the best OCR races I've participated in! Terrain was super challenging, with a varied topography- many hills, canals, valleys, etc... The most amount of obstacles I have negotiated and they were fun! but also very challenging.

This race could be the site of a future NORAM!

IMO this is a must do race. Great use of natural terrain and inventive obstacles. Well organized. Great competition. Not another race like it.

A Great Family Time

Jul 05, 2019 by Nichole Warnock

This race is definitely deserving of 5 stars. My husband has run it for three years in a row and wouldn’t miss it! Our kids love the kid’s course too! It keeps getting better and better each year!

It gets better every year! The trails were marked well, there was very little to no back ups at obstacles, and the course was very unique and challenging.
