Indian Mud Run obstacle races, mud run, and OCR information, distance, cost, dates, calendar, discounts, obstacles, reviews, and more

The Indian Mud run is a very challenging obstacle course race through beautiful hills alongside spectacular rock formations. The Indian Mud Run is an official Obstacle Course Racing World Championship qualifier with the top 5 in each age group men and women qualifying for age group divisions and the top 3 overall men and women qualifying for Pro division.

The 2017 race will feature Dewayne Montgomery Coach Pain” as the start line motivator. New in 2017 the Indian Mud Run will offer 2 race lengths and a new start and finish line area. We also have a 3 lap option (20 miles-150 obstacles) and all 3 lap finishers earn an authentic American Indian made arrow upon completion.

The competitive waves will be 6 plus miles long with 50 plus obstacles. The non-competitive waves will be around a 5k length and offer close to 35 obstacles. The terrain is an obstacle itself and the course will challenge you with world class obstacles.

Some of the obstacles include 20’ cargo net climb, Swivel ladder climb, natural rock climb with ropes, steep hills, Net climb over ravine, Cliff climb on rope ladder, Log traverse, 165’ water slide, 20’ high climbing wall, mud pit and many more. The competitive course is mandatory obstacle completion with bands. The competitive course will have the above obstacles plus the weaver, Rig, walls, rappel, and end with the ¾ mile gauntlet of Skull valley, Irish table, Rope traverse, 40 foot monkey bars, Dragons back, Rope climb, Rig, Half pipe wall and slide into pond, Destroyer and Wall hanger. 4 of the gauntlet obstacles are signature obstacles from past Obstacle Course Racing World Championships and are used with permission from the obstacles owners.

The top 3 finishers in each 5 year age group will receive an authentic American Indian made Tomahawk but you must run in the competitive waves to be eligible for the Tomahawk. The top 15 in each age group will have their name on the back of the following year’s shirt. After the race you get a free can beer (not draft) and a free ride on our Blob pillow. Racers also get a cool medal, and a beautiful shirt. Shirts include the top 500 placers from the previous year’s race. We also have a separate kid’s course.

Our mission is to provide the best mud run possible. We strive to have the best course, a great shirt, a cool finisher’s medal, fun post-race entertainment and good food all at a fair price. We have an awesome course with spectacular rock formations, great views, super obstacles and easy access with a 4 lane highway less than a quarter mile away. Some of our best obstacles are very spectator friendly so bring a camera, some friends and a big smile.

Favorite race of the year

Jul 06, 2019 by Maira Toenjes

This year was my second time running this race and will continue to be the one I look forward to the most each year. Excellent use of terrain and natural elements incorporated into obstacles. This race is not for the faint. It will challenge you in every way. Lots of STEEP ups and downs and technical single lane trails. The obstacles keep getting better but not impossible. This race makes you want to go home and train to come back better. It’s ran by some incredibly welcoming and friendly people who are as humble as they come. I tell all my OCR Friends in Florida where I live, if they are traveling out of state for a race this year, this is the one to go to!

Exhilerating exhaustion

I knew going out for my first try at IMR would be incredible. Hubie is innovative and his own love of racing was bound to give you an awesome experience.

I underestimated my expectations and had my hiney handed to me. The technical terrain combined with the intensity of grip after grip obstacles was exhausting but yet I couldn't wait to come around the next bend to see what was next.
72 obstacles in 6.6 miles in truly an amazing feat. Hubie's use of the naturescape with the rock cliffs made for some interesting climbs.
When I finished the course, I was proud to accept that medal. Major kudos to those that made podium and kept their bands in the competitive waves.
I look forward to 2020 and have to say, IMR will be my race to see what improvements I have made as a person and athlete!!
Keep up the great work.....IMR in little Coshocton, OH is fast becoming "The Race to get to"

Best in the Midwest or US

Jul 06, 2019 by Dave Barnes

I just started running competitive mud runs in 2017. This course has everything you Want. I ran GBC w Jamie And Gwynn Case. They recommended IMR so I registered for 2018. After running this became my favorite course. As a wrestler, Hubie knows where I’m coming from. I brought this back to my folk at the Iron Rig and said you gotta do this. The Iron Rig was on board and didn’t disappoint. Harder than 2018. 2019 was epic. Though I didn’t finish where I wanted that course in my opinion is the toughest that I’ve done. As taxing as a Spartan beast. The elevation change, rope climbs and number of legit obstacles. Very challenging. Love the Hubster. Beast of a course. No flufff. Price is great Local venders. #imrrocks

I really enjoyed this venue. I have only heard about it a couple of months ago from a friend of mine in Florida. She suggested that we do it together so we met for the first time at this race. The obstacles were challenging but doable, the length was about right (10k), And the organization was phenomenal! I am so looking forward to doing this race again next year!

Awesome Indian Mud Run!

Jul 05, 2019 by Joel Zanicky

Just wanted to say what a phenomenal race that was put on this past Saturday called Indian Mud Run! 70+ obstacles in a 10k kept you pretty busy! I podiumed and got an authentic Indian made tomahawk! Such a cool and fun race! Definitely doing it again next year.

Death by Hubie ❤

Jul 05, 2019 by Victoria Vinet

This is the event that Hubie Cushman has built and continues to improve. IMR has been on my to do list for a few years and was finally able to get over to Coshocton this year.

The course was a mix of cliff and steep hill climbing and very runnable trails that intertwine in the beautiful woods of the course.

The obstacles are unique, iconic and challenging.

The atmospheres and course voulenteers are engaging, encouraging and energetic.

This is a race not to be missed and one to attend year after year!

This was my first ever mud run and I opted for the 10k with my wife and friend. It was amazing and my expectations were exceeded. Will definitely be back!
