Warrior Dash obstacle races, mud run, and OCR information, distance, cost, dates, calendar, discounts, obstacles, reviews, and more

As of July 30th, 2019 Warrior Dash has announced they are ceasing operations. Please see this post for details, including several other OCRs who are stepping up and offering free races for affected Warrior Dash racers.

Warrior Dash is the world's largest running series and is held on challenging and rugged terrains across the world. Participants bound over fire, trudge through mud and scale over 12 obstacles during this fierce 5K. From couch potatoes to novice runners to extreme athletes, Warrior Dash truly is an event for all athletic abilities.

The inspiration behind Warrior Dash was to create the most bad-ass day possible. It is a day where participants can challenge themselves, be active and get muddy. Participants tackle the course and then celebrate their accomplishments with beer, food and live music.

Warrior Dash is an alternative to the classic 5K and provides an incomparable experience for participants and spectators. The unique combination of athleticism, live music, turkey legs and beer keeps Warriors coming back for more.

Warrior Dash is partnered with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The St. Jude Warriors program encourages Warrior Dash racers to fundraise for St. Jude. With the help of 2012 participants Warrior Dash has raised over 2 million dollars for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Red Frog Events prides itself on creating the Active Entertainment Industry, which is a combination of fitness, entertainment and event management. As a leader in the industry, we strive to make each Warrior Dash more unique and challenging than the last. Innovation is continuously brewing back at Red Frog Events office where the whole team is dreaming up new obstacles and twists for Warrior Dash. In the end, we are in the business of having fun!

Awesome time overall. I've read the reviews on the chip timing being taken away. I too was disappointed when I heard about it. But I got over it. I'm competitive in road races and triathlons....where there aren't obstacles you have to wait 2-20 mins to get through. How can you call that a competition when you sit there waiting for someone who's in front of you paranoid they can't make it across a rope? And now you've just lost 10 mins on your time to your buddy who didn't face the same wait. This year's course took about 80 mins to complete. It was significantly hillier than 2 years ago at Windham...which took my wife around 30 mins if I recall correctly. The hills were very steep and long. The obstacles had significantly longer lines.

With the lack of chip timing, I was disappointed there were no results posted. I would've at liked to have seen who competed even though the times would've been significantly skewed. At least I would've known who's a Warrior and who isn't.

The course was VERY challenging running with hills (my quads are still tender walking up/down stairs two days later!) The lines at the obstacles were a tad long. The before and after event were as expected.

Big disappointment this year without the timing and overall results. I've always loved warrior dash, but don't see myself doing it again for this reason. I enjoy the competition in these races and just like to see how I do in comparison to previous years.

No timing in the elite wave. Because of that I am not sure I will do this again. Other than that, it was a fun but super-easy course. The swag was the best I have received from an OCR race.

North Carolina Warrior Dash 6/6/15

Event Name:

I wish I would have found this website before I did the warrior dash this year. Having done it in with friends in years past, (last time was 2013) I've always found it to be a fun time even if it's not difficult. No timing chips ruined it for me this year. I'm not an elite runnner and would not be in the running to win one of these events, but it was still always nice to know where you stacked up against the people who were. I've finished in the top 100 overall and my competitive self liked to know that vs not knowing if I was 20th or 5000th. It's also fun to give your buddies a hard time for finishing behind you. You can't do that anymore. Overall the NC course has never been bad, and the volunteers seem to do an alright job. Parking was easy and there were no waits at the obstacles. However, I don't think I'll be back for one of these until the event gets back to where it was 3-5 years ago. I'll stick to one of the more serious mud events.

As a side note, I signed up for the 830 wave. Maybe someone who was in one of the afternoon waves can chime in and let us know how the rest of the event went. Better / same / worse than years past.

Warrior Dash has given up

Competitive wave cheaters not DQ'ed, No timing chip (supposed to keep our own time), no complete results, watered down courses, easy obstacles (that a lot of the top placers in the 830 heat skipped). I have ran four including the Iron Warrior they had a couple years ago, im done with them.

Can't Wait for Next Year!

Feb 01, 2015 by Jenn

This was my first mud run and it was an absolute blast! Parking was very easy, no lines for packet pick up ,gear check, or free beer. Our 9AM wave left right on time and we had a great mix of mud, trails, and obstacles. The only small bottleneck was right at the end when we hit Goliath - the second to last obstacle. Even then we only waited about a minute or two while they cleared the slides.

Great even and very well organized. We are already looking forward to running next year!

No Timing Chip

Nov 04, 2014 by Jason

We've run the Warrior Dash for the past few years in the Mississippi and Tennessee locations. This past year we were very disappointed that no timing chips were being used. So many runners were so pissed after finding this out. Many of us gauge our workouts and training as to whether it has been successful or not based on our times to give us an idea. The only ones being timed are competitive heats/racers so you might as well just sign up for it. All this so warrior dash can save a few bucks as if they don't make enough clipping everyone, even participants, in parking/beverages/food/apparel etc.
My friend also has run these with me for years and he ran the competitive heat and qualified for the World's competition and even said he would not run another Warrior Dash again due to the lack of timing of all runners, the poor organization and the "watered down" courses making it so anyone and everyone can do it just to say they did it, so they can post it online.

For the last 4 years, I've been doing the Copper Mountain Warrior Dash. And each and every year, the crew never disappoints. They're very organized. The only bottleneck this year, was the high wall by the ski lift after the mud pit. I really liked the snow obstacle. LOL I couldn't believe there was still over 9 feet of snow on the mountain this year. The after party is something to behold as well. Always a GREAT time.

I also did the Arizona WD, and for that one I have to give 1 star. You have a 5K to conquer just getting from the parking lot to the venue. It's all flat, running through Spring Training stadiums, and another dirt lot. Goliath was cool, but there was a long wait. Also, no jumping the fire pits? When I saw that, I was hoping Colorado wasn't going to do the same and line them up on the sides. Lame. (Colorado didn't)
The water truck at the hose off area broke down TWICE when I was there. I got half washed, and waited 30 minutes for the other truck to get there. And then that one ran out while I was trying to rinse my legs. The afterparty was ok, but it approached 90 degrees around Noon. They should move it up to March, and move the venue to Rawhide. I know the schematics would not work at the current location because of Spring Training, but they used to hold it down in Florence.

4 Stars for Colorado
1 Star for Arizona

This was my first warrior dash. I didn't fully know what to expect. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The event seemed well organized. I ran with my grandson and son in law , we had a blast. Our only complaint was not having chip timing for our division anymore.

Much imporoved

This was my second warrior dash, last one being same location the year before. Last years was good, but this years was much improved. Friendlier staff, more organization, precise start times for the heats, and some new obstacles that were different from last year. WD has stepped up their game a bit. Would like to see more obstacles, but overall a fun time. One complaint: get more 3xl shirts in the packet. Biggest size was XL...??? There are some of us that run this that wear adult size clothing. Come on guys......

The Ultimate Mud Run, Obstacle Race and Adventure Race Guide , USA 2.8 5.0 197 197 I wouldn't even call this "Milwaukee" 2019 as it was an hour away. However, it was 100% ON A SKI HILL. It wasn't so much an obstacle run as it was just running a 5k up and down sk
