Warrior Dash obstacle races, mud run, and OCR information, distance, cost, dates, calendar, discounts, obstacles, reviews, and more

As of July 30th, 2019 Warrior Dash has announced they are ceasing operations. Please see this post for details, including several other OCRs who are stepping up and offering free races for affected Warrior Dash racers.

Warrior Dash is the world's largest running series and is held on challenging and rugged terrains across the world. Participants bound over fire, trudge through mud and scale over 12 obstacles during this fierce 5K. From couch potatoes to novice runners to extreme athletes, Warrior Dash truly is an event for all athletic abilities.

The inspiration behind Warrior Dash was to create the most bad-ass day possible. It is a day where participants can challenge themselves, be active and get muddy. Participants tackle the course and then celebrate their accomplishments with beer, food and live music.

Warrior Dash is an alternative to the classic 5K and provides an incomparable experience for participants and spectators. The unique combination of athleticism, live music, turkey legs and beer keeps Warriors coming back for more.

Warrior Dash is partnered with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The St. Jude Warriors program encourages Warrior Dash racers to fundraise for St. Jude. With the help of 2012 participants Warrior Dash has raised over 2 million dollars for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Red Frog Events prides itself on creating the Active Entertainment Industry, which is a combination of fitness, entertainment and event management. As a leader in the industry, we strive to make each Warrior Dash more unique and challenging than the last. Innovation is continuously brewing back at Red Frog Events office where the whole team is dreaming up new obstacles and twists for Warrior Dash. In the end, we are in the business of having fun!

No chip timing (unless comp division) is disappointing, this was the 2nd year we ran this race. It was a let down. Too much pavement and too few obstacles.

Warrior Dash II Michigan

Sep 21, 2014 by Sandra Alexander

I went to the one one in Walker, Michigan. It was an absolute blast. The staff was beyond fantastic. They were all supportive and cheering everyone on. They were super helpful, as this was my first year and I was clueless as to what I should be doing to check in and all that. The obstacles were well built, and there were a bunch of freebies and tents. I didn't see a single person, staff or participant, in a cruddy mood. I will be going again next year!!!

2nd time

Sep 18, 2014 by Steph

This was my second time running the dash. Last year was much more organized and smooth than this years dash.
While this year they tried to make some of the obstacles harder, which was nice to have a harder challenge than the year before. It was done so poorly. They took away some of the best obstacles, like Alcatraz. I loved Goliath which was a great addition to this year.
And I did enjoy the not running on the side of the hill at the start.
But the waits at the obstacles were annoying. We didn't experience the lines we had this year, at last years race.
Overall it's still a fun time, and it's definitely worth raising money for St. Jude for the shower and free food.
I'm already signed up for next year.

3rd time doing it

Sep 14, 2014 by Henry
Event Name:

So I see all these complaints about fee's etc and I figured I would address them.
1)showers: Warrior dash has never had a full on shower here in Hillsboro, OR unless you support St. Judes. It's right there when you're signing up. The pond is dirty yes since people have been rinsing off after all. But it's just kind of muddy water. Can easily get the majority of mud off you. Why would you go to a mud run and expect to be completely clean after?

2) Parking: people complain about the $10. Tough Mudder was $21 i think and they charged to hold bags etc. Oh and they had a small under powered rinsing station.
3) Lines: Yes there are lines at some of the obstacles. If you do it later in the day expect more. If you want to avoid obstacles than do the competition waves earlier in the am as these are people pushing hard for time and not just doing it for fun.

4: Disorganized?? This was my 3rd. I've never had a problem. It's crowded yes but if you can't read simple instructions that's on you. They alphabetize the lines to speed them up. Plus they don't really keep track of when you go to run (haven't found a run that does yet). So get your packet and run whenever really which I find to be a good thing.

That's it. I only gave this a 4 star because really it could be more challenging. I've done the WD 3 times now. Rugged Maniac 2 and Tough Mudder 1. They all have the same issues with lines at some obstacles and paying to park etc. Expect it. Carpool etc... If it was so bad I wouldn't have the group I did it with last time signing up for next year and starting a huge group for a couple others.

After a relatively fun and challenging event on Sat. Sept.6, I was dumbfounded that there were no shower/ rinse off facilities of any kind unless you had raised a certain amount of money. R U kidding me? The organizers couldn't spring for an extra water truck and a couple of garden hoses at the very least? LAME !!! And then to have contestants march down to a muddy pond to rinse off? The last obstacle being the muddiest of all and the best you can do is an equally muddy pond to do what? Get sorta clean enough to change into clean clothes and drive home? LAME !!! Count me out of future Warrior Dashes. And I can't believe I'm the only one to find this less than satisfactory.

Wow!

This course was awesome, and quite a challenge! The steep hills of mud through the woods were probably just as challenging as the obstacles. The parking fee didn't bother me, but the long lines at the obstacles was a little disappointing. I did see a lot of event workers near obstacles, but not many in the woods where many people fell, slipped, and tripped through the hills of mud. Despite this, the WD was an amazing experience and I can't wait to do it again!

What a bust!

This was my first WD and I was so disappointed, as I've done a number of other races and had heard great things about this one!
The Warrior Dash was really not good at all... I will definitely not be doing it again.
1. The parking situation was annoying, as the field was pretty muddy and I had some concerns I'd get stuck. Also, the staff was neither helpful nor polite. Plus, $10 to park? Are you kidding me? This is by no means an inexpensive race and again, I've done several. Asking each car to pay $10 to park is absurd.
2. The race was extremely disorganized. It was not well marked, there were no time clocks or anything out there, and there didn't even seem to be people monitoring anything. For the entry cost, I had much higher expectations.
3. The obstacles were kind of a joke, with a few exceptions. Many of the obstacles felt genuinely unsafe and again, there was nobody out there to help if someone was hurt! The quality of obstacles was very questionable, there was very little variety, and most were not even challenging. Really they were either dangerous/scary or super easy... There wasn't much in between.
4. I have some concerns about the fact that a farm sprayer was provided for people to rinse off. Aside from being completely ineffective, leaving everyone still muddy, IT'S A FARM SPRAYER! You know that fertilizer and chemicals usually goes in that big bucket, right? So lets fill it with water and hose everybody down... Good idea, I'm sure everything was thoroughly cleaned ahead of time. Right.
5. Probably my biggest complaint is that the lines were RIDICULOUS. I cannot stress that enough. TOTALLY RIDICULOUS. Had there just been reasonable lines I probably would've finished in under an hour and it took me a solid two hours. We waited at one of the obstacles for almost 45 minutes. The line to complete it was about 200 people deep and there were 6 ropes!! Talking to people in line, this is really unusual for these sorts of races and unfortunately, you left a lot of seasoned Warrior Dashers feeling extremely dissatisfied. These insane wait times accomplished only one thing and that was to make a lot of participants really pissed off. Good work.

Amazing time! We did a 1:15 start time and surprisingly the traffic was nonexistent, the bus was quick and clean to the site, the volunteers and workers were very organized and the obstacles were a blast. I'm not sure why people are complaining about poor organization, muddy water and questionable obstacles. It's a HUGE event, you're expected to get muddy and if you feel unsafe at an obstacle, go around it! For our race there were volunteers everywhere telling us how to do the obstacles, letting us know what the course was like ahead and handing out water. I was amazed, especially because this race is at 10,000 feet (copper mountain, Colorado!) and altitude sickness is common, even when locals exercise.

I would highly recommend this race :)

My first warrior dash was disappointing. From having to pay $10 to park and them the workers were pretty rude and unorganized. But the worst was running - as I am competitive and do a lot of competitive racing...only to wait in lines minimum 10-20 minutes each obstacle. Also I felt there was no volunteer representaion on the course. No one to tell us how much long we or what if someone got hurt....none of us racers carried phones. And honestly there was an obstacle or 2 where people were landing on each other and getting hurt (I skipped that one) I cannot afford to get hurt. I think it has great potential but this race was a bomb :( sorry
Need clocks and volunteers or signs how far we've gone and the truck to rinse us off ran out of water at the end. So I had to drive home an hour in dried mud :( boo warrior dash!!

Disappointed

Aug 13, 2014 by Clay

I've run in the Ohio II dash since they started it in 2012 and it was a blast. But they have dropped the ball this year. It used to be over saturday and sunday with waves every half hour, now they are releasing waves every 15 minutes. I skipped two obstacles that had lines 15+ minutes long. At the Goliath I got cut off because a beam was cracking and they needed to shore it up. I'm not complaining about getting cut off but I can't believe they built a structure that weak to begin with. This was the first year my mom and sister ran, it was embarrassing because I had told them how fun it previously was. Overall it was disappointing having smaller waves or longer intervals would go a long way towards fixing many problems.

The Ultimate Mud Run, Obstacle Race and Adventure Race Guide , USA 2.8 5.0 197 197 I wouldn't even call this "Milwaukee" 2019 as it was an hour away. However, it was 100% ON A SKI HILL. It wasn't so much an obstacle run as it was just running a 5k up and down sk
