Warrior Dash obstacle races, mud run, and OCR information, distance, cost, dates, calendar, discounts, obstacles, reviews, and more

As of July 30th, 2019 Warrior Dash has announced they are ceasing operations. Please see this post for details, including several other OCRs who are stepping up and offering free races for affected Warrior Dash racers.

Warrior Dash is the world's largest running series and is held on challenging and rugged terrains across the world. Participants bound over fire, trudge through mud and scale over 12 obstacles during this fierce 5K. From couch potatoes to novice runners to extreme athletes, Warrior Dash truly is an event for all athletic abilities.

The inspiration behind Warrior Dash was to create the most bad-ass day possible. It is a day where participants can challenge themselves, be active and get muddy. Participants tackle the course and then celebrate their accomplishments with beer, food and live music.

Warrior Dash is an alternative to the classic 5K and provides an incomparable experience for participants and spectators. The unique combination of athleticism, live music, turkey legs and beer keeps Warriors coming back for more.

Warrior Dash is partnered with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The St. Jude Warriors program encourages Warrior Dash racers to fundraise for St. Jude. With the help of 2012 participants Warrior Dash has raised over 2 million dollars for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Red Frog Events prides itself on creating the Active Entertainment Industry, which is a combination of fitness, entertainment and event management. As a leader in the industry, we strive to make each Warrior Dash more unique and challenging than the last. Innovation is continuously brewing back at Red Frog Events office where the whole team is dreaming up new obstacles and twists for Warrior Dash. In the end, we are in the business of having fun!

I'll pass next year

Jul 27, 2014 by Disappointed Warrior

I've been running the warrior dash in Michigan for the past 4 years and I'm pretty sure this will be my last. I normally do a early Sunday wave and this year decided to run on Saturday because I found a deal online. Check in went quick, but when someone ahead of me in line asked about the timing chips, the volunteer told them they didn't have chips and they "don't know how you're timed this year, but they just know your results somehow". Hmmm, sounds a little fishy to me but whatever. I thought the course was a little tougher than last year, but there was nothing at the end as a reward but a crushed bag of Grape Nuts...

I don't know if it was because we finished later than usual, but there were no freebies (in the past Monster was there giving away energy drinks, Bear Naked with granola, etc.), they were running out of food (we were especially disappointed there were no turkey legs) and the "band" was a woman who seemed depressed to be there with a laptop playing songs.

The whole thing just seemed sad, and lacked enthusiasm. I think I'll pass on next years race.

This was my 4th time doing the Warrior Dash in New York. I was not impressed this time.

No timing chips? If I pay $75 to run a race I expect it to be timed accurately. Unless they return to chip timing, I will not be doing another Warrior Dash again.

By trying to save a few bucks, they will lose many customers.

First Warrior Dash for me. I didn't care but I think when a website says something it should be true: there were not clocks at the finish or at the mile markers like the website said there would be. I just asked at the finish what time it was from someone with a phone. My biggest thing, the t-shirt I wanted to buy was sold out in size L and XL and 2XL by11:00 the first day. The only thing left was 3XL. Apperently they had timing chips the year before; I think this would have been nice. I guess it's like any business: you cheapen it to save money, then people stop coming, then you go out of business. When you give quality, people will keep coming back.

New Race Name

Jul 22, 2014 by John

This was my 4th year attending the Warrior Dash and definitely my last. Totally a cash grab as the whole event has cheapened. To my surprise I found out day of the race there would be no timing chips. We were told that it was requested from some of last years participants who didn't want to know their times as they were only there for fun. If you don't want to be timed just don't wear the timing chip "problem solved". Personally I wanted to improve on my last years time as well as comparing myself overall and to others in my age group. I picture a warrior as a fierce competitor who strives to conquer and defeat any challenges put forth.
Maybe it's time to change the name of the race from Warrior Dash to "The Pansy Stroll".

Getting worse each year

Jul 21, 2014 by Linda

I've done this 3 years in a row and it has gotten worse each year. There was no variety in obstacles. The bulk of them you were climbing over a wall of some sort - so lame! Then to add madness to the mix, they've really cheeped out on everything!

The ropes weren't cloth this year, they were plastic... OKAY SERIOUSLY? Yes seriously! Muddy hands and plastic doesn't mix and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. I somehow managed to make it to the top when my hands got sweaty and I plummeted approximately 12-14 feet (guesstimate) off one of the walls. I suffered sever rope burns on all my fingers, had the wind knocked out of me, my belly is full of scratches and burns as well as my knees, and was in the hospital with a sprained ankle. You don't use tarp rope for climbing people... it's not meant for climbing!!! How come you use cloth rope both years with exception to this year? Perhaps cutting costs will cost you a lot more in the end because I don't have any intention on returning to this race.

Not only did they cut costs on the ropes, they cut costs on the time chips as well. This was tacky. I was training for 6 months for this race in the hopes that I could beat my personal best. When I showed up - no chips WTH? You've disappointed a lot of regulars.

Normally the race is smooth and the lines are quick moving but this year it was quite the opposite. Everyone was complaining about the line ups (took me 45 minutes in 1 line to collect my belongings). Would have been faster to leave my crap in the car and take the shuttle back and forth.

Aside from that - everyone I spoke with all felt like the race was a lot shorter. I have no way of measuring the distance but it felt shorter than the two years prior.

Most of the volunteers were okay - however one of them not paying attention to his surroundings cut in front of my husband to place another log on the fire and by doing so caused him to collapse to the ground just missing inches from falling into the flames. MORONS!!!

I have always been a cheerleader for this race, but this year I have nothing to cheer about.

Stop cutting costs or else you'll find yourself with no dashers. The barbed wire was a joke, I walked under it without ducking, seriously guys! Sadness!

dis

such a let down never been more mad didnt time you there were no clocks totry to even time your self. I trained for months paid for extra classes to beat my time from last year. It was also so much easier then last year.
done this 4 years in a row and will not do it again so disapointed.

Disappointing

Jul 20, 2014 by RMary

I ran this last year and brought friends and my kids to run it with me this year. What a disappointment. There was no time-chip (i.e. no ability to time yourself) and therefore no way to compete against others. The obstacles were mainly some variation of a wall-climb or rope-climb. The barbed wire was set so high that I could almost walk under it without crouching. (Last year, you had to belly-crawl, and I still got scrapes on my back). Will reconsider whether I would do this one again. Disappointing.

not a race!

Jul 20, 2014 by jason

Surprise! No time chips this year. I am so glad I brought my watch otherwise I woukd have been absolutely furious. I trained hard for two months to beat my time last year. Now I can't even compare to other participant rankings.
obstacles were generic and uninspiring. Oh yay another wall to hop over.
Overall disappointed. Will not be doing WD again.

Expensive non-race

Jul 20, 2014 by N

This turned out not to be a race...

No time chips provided. Was told that we had to use our watches.
No race clock at finish line.
Chaotic, long line-ups at the obstacles (cost me at least 5 min over 5K.

Obstacles themselves were quite good. Good music, refreshments etc., great transportation in and out.

Better organization needed (perhaps too few volunteers)
The race has potential but it felt amateurish this year (cash grabby). Time keeping is an absolute must for a race. None of this everyones a winner garbage. I felt they should have given some of our money back since they were not providing what they advertised.

Last years race was great. Not sure what the hell happened this year.

The Ultimate Mud Run, Obstacle Race and Adventure Race Guide , USA 2.8 5.0 197 197 I wouldn't even call this "Milwaukee" 2019 as it was an hour away. However, it was 100% ON A SKI HILL. It wasn't so much an obstacle run as it was just running a 5k up and down sk
