Several OCR companies and road running events have presented virtual challenges to help keep racers motivated in the offseason. Some are fans, some like me are skeptics. Thanks to a few organizations I quickly went from a skeptic to a fan.
The Spartan Race Glenn Rose weekend, the last weekend of October plays host to the Fallen Heroes Memorial Run. This run gives participants a chance to conquer the Spartan course with the efforts helping raise awareness and funds for veterans issues. The Fallen Heroes Memorial Fund also offers a virtual race package.
For the team at Colorado Obstacle Racers; the night of February 24th, 2017 changed their world. Three of their team; Kym Butcher, Elizabeth Rotter and Corrina Vaden had made the last second decision to head to Arizona for the Spartan Race weekend. Corrina was driving while Kym and Elizabeth had been stretched out in the back seat.
