Yesterday, the International Management Group (IMG) the global sports and event management company announced that Tough Mudder is heading to China in 2017. The first event will take place on May 20 -21, 2017 in Shanghai. See the full article first published in China.org below.
Yesterday, Sports Business Journal/Sports Business Daily reported that Tough Mudder is looking to expand into gyms in 2017. According to the news source, Will Dean said during a panel discussion a SportsBusiness Journal conference that "Tough Mudder will launch a chain of fitness boutiques in the U.S. in 2017".
They fought through the maze that is Tokyo, took on the brutal practice of the famed Marathon Monks, raced to the top of a skyscraper and endured freezing cold nights on a mountain—all in the name of the first Spartan Race Agoge in Japan. From December 8-11, the Land of the Rising Sun welcomed 26 international Spartans, including members of the Reebok Japan team, to the debut Agoge in Japan on the island of Honshu. (The term Agoge derives from an Ancient Greek series of physical challenges that tested the strength of young Spartan Warriors.)

Yesterday Variety broke the news that NBCUniversal International Formats has sold “Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge” to Denmark’s Kanal 5 after launching sales at Mipcom. The Danish version of the show will be produced by Nordisk Denmark and will be the first international adaptation of the NBC reality show.
