The stories from members of our community most often contain the reason why they signed up for their first race, and continue to keep going when times are tough. Kim DeVoss suffered two back to back tragedies in her life, Tough Mudder brought her back to life, out of the darkness.
No one should have a pre-5am start on a Sunday, but it was The Nuts Challenge weekend! I was signed up to race the four-lap challenge, and this being my first time racing at the ‘UK’s Toughest OCR’, I wasn’t sure what to expect.

This workout is the perfect addition to any training program or if you need a quick break in the middle of the day a short and intense workout to get your body moving. This interval training bodyweight workout requires ZERO equipment.
Over the weekend, socials started to buzz with a few posts online about the famed Death Race returning in 2018. For the past couple of years, the precursor event of Spartan Race had laid dormant. While those close to the race always hypothesized the race would one day make a return. That wish is now a reality.
DRX Games VII- Strength & Speed On March 24, 2018, Dirt Runner's permanent Obstacle Course Race (OCR) facility located in Marseilles, IL (just south-west of Chicago) will hold two more events at their current location. You may have been there for one of Dirt Runner's frequent races or you may know the venue from BattleFrog Chicago (2016) or a former home to Spartan Race (pre-2015).
Mud Titan and Tactical Titan are small Florida based obstacle race series which has been around the industry since 2012. The races are run by Mike Nelson. This year the company expects over 6,ooo participants from its four events in 2018.
For anyone who thought they would be running near the strip in Las Vegas for the recent Spartan Race, they were sadly mistaken as the course actually ran 90 miles away from the strip in the Arizona desert. While the race itself was great, Spartan dropped the ball on a few elements this year.
Recently, Spartan inked a new multi-year partnership with BODYARMOR, one of the fastest goring sports drink companies. The new partnership begins immediately and will continue through the 2019 season offering participants BODYARMOR beverages at all U.S. events.
Weekly at Mud Run Guide, we are amazed at the amount of sheer awesomeness emanating from the obstacle racing community. With the obstacle racing season underway in more and more of North America and beyond the incredible stories continue to come across our desks.
