Warrior Dash obstacle races, mud run, and OCR information, distance, cost, dates, calendar, discounts, obstacles, reviews, and more

As of July 30th, 2019 Warrior Dash has announced they are ceasing operations. Please see this post for details, including several other OCRs who are stepping up and offering free races for affected Warrior Dash racers.

Warrior Dash is the world's largest running series and is held on challenging and rugged terrains across the world. Participants bound over fire, trudge through mud and scale over 12 obstacles during this fierce 5K. From couch potatoes to novice runners to extreme athletes, Warrior Dash truly is an event for all athletic abilities.

The inspiration behind Warrior Dash was to create the most bad-ass day possible. It is a day where participants can challenge themselves, be active and get muddy. Participants tackle the course and then celebrate their accomplishments with beer, food and live music.

Warrior Dash is an alternative to the classic 5K and provides an incomparable experience for participants and spectators. The unique combination of athleticism, live music, turkey legs and beer keeps Warriors coming back for more.

Warrior Dash is partnered with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The St. Jude Warriors program encourages Warrior Dash racers to fundraise for St. Jude. With the help of 2012 participants Warrior Dash has raised over 2 million dollars for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Red Frog Events prides itself on creating the Active Entertainment Industry, which is a combination of fitness, entertainment and event management. As a leader in the industry, we strive to make each Warrior Dash more unique and challenging than the last. Innovation is continuously brewing back at Red Frog Events office where the whole team is dreaming up new obstacles and twists for Warrior Dash. In the end, we are in the business of having fun!

Warrior Dash Socal 2014 - Great for 1st time OCRs

Apr 06, 2014 by Lyra

Pre-Race: Parking was located at a separate location where participants are required to pay 10.00 parking and given unlimited shuttle rides for the duration of the event time. The venue was right where we were dropped off. Packet pick up was right near the entrance and the lines for packet pickup where separated in alphabetical order with letter labels under the tents. However, that did not make a difference because by the time I got to the front, a volunteer said that we could go to any line we wanted because it is not alphabetized. Packet included the infamous Warrior Dash helmets, bib, and shirt.

Course: I'd say the course is great for beginners / first timer OCR participants. Anyone who is a seasoned athlete/ ocr participant may find Warrior Dash lacking in difficulty. I've participated in a handful of mud runs already so from my experience, I've felt this would be a great first time/ beginner ocr event. It was my mother's first time doing an OCR, and she found it a bit of a challenge.
The course has a few hills but mainly started out flat and ended flat. The website advertised there would be certain obstacles on the course where some were changed, located at different places or just not there at all. There was no cargo climb, No Monkey bar climb in fact they were taking it down as we were participating. I asked why, but those who were taking it down didn't know why. The most memorable obstacles was the wadding/swim across a small portion of the lake, and " Giant Cliff hanger" (climbing a angled wall with a rope).

Post Race: Receive a cool looking medal in the shape of the infamous Warrior Dash helmet which seconds as a beer bottle opener. The clean up/shower section wasn't clear and when we asked a handful of volunteers they did not know also. We found it eventually and gear check out was swift. We did not eat at the venue as we did not care for the selection. Food options were minimal: hot dog, turkey leg, burger, curly fries, veggie burger, soft drinks, water, and beer. The amount of shuttles that were moving between the venue and the parking lot was plentiful so we did not wait long at all to get back to our car.

Overall: I highly recommend anyone who is just starting out in OCR or a beginner to go with Warrior Dash. Some of the obstacles that were advertised were missing/ getting taken down with no explanation. I think that during packet pick up they could have some volunteers navigate participants into lines that weren't as busy since it wasn't alphabetical order although it was advertised otherwise. Regardless, I enjoyed myself with my group and my mom who is a first time OCR racer enjoyed herself.

It was a fun 5K, but not much of a challenge.

Awesome

Mar 25, 2014 by Daniel Brunkenhoefer

This event was awesome!!!! From the parking, to the vibe, it felt great!!! The Monster guys were awesome!!! The howdy Honda woman was awesome!!! The guys that checked us in were awesome!!! I was a lil upset not to be in the competitive wave when I email the company maybe a month prior, but it was ok, it was a blast. I helped out this one lady, she was nice. I can tell the people who put this on put in a lot of work, obstacles break, it happens, but majority was challenging and on point. Love the hills, was very challenging. Great Work Guys!!! Definitely want to do this race again!!! I ran a 0900, and finish the course in 54mins or so!!! Not bad for a old guy! :)

My first race, I had a blast, and since it was my first, I thought it was hard. Warrior Dash is a great race to be your "first".

Lame excuse for a race

Mar 24, 2014 by Megan Pabis

This was my first and last Warrior Dash. I'm an avid obstacle race runner and I'll be completing my Spartan Trifecta this year. This wasn't my first rodeo, so to speak. Parking and check in were fine...and then it just went downhill from there. The emcee was lame. There was no energy. No hype. No crowd involvement. We just stood there and waited to go. I ran in the 9:45am heat. One of the obstacles (dead mans drop) had a plank that was broken. Two of my "mud" obstacles had yet to be filled with water. The mud pits were bone dry and the water truck was arriving as I had just passed the obstacle. The muddy trenches had yet to be filled either. Someone had lazily thrown some thorny holly brush into it, though. I guess that was supposed to be challenging? Worst of all, they didn't close the freaking trail. I encountered TWO mountain bikers riding the trail (and they both had no affiliation with Warrior Dash. I know... I talked to them as they passed me). Unlike the Spartan series, I found the people in this race to be obnoxious. No one helped each other and walkers didn't yield the trail causing ridiculous bottle-necks that slowed my time. The only perks I give this race are for the delicious honeycrisp apple wheat beer, the fuzzy hat and the fact that the trail itself was a nice trail with a few challenging hills. When I finish a race, I like to feel like I accomplished something. I finished this race and didn't even feel like I had earned my beer. No way I'll waste my time and money with this again.

Badass First Experience!

Mar 24, 2014 by Kristen

This was my first experience with Warrior Dash and I'll definitely be back. I had heard mixed reviews about these types of races in general from others who've done them, but I had an excellent time and will do it again for sure. Parking was easy (though a very long walk - which is great in the beginning but felt like the green mile after the race). Check in went smooth, the crowd was great, racers and volunteers were friendly and helpful. The overall vibe was exciting and amazing. As a St. Jude Warrior, I also had private tent access which meant free food, drinks, bag check and SHOWERS!

You don't really get muddy until the end, but I'm honestly fine with that. This course was about 4miles long but I'm not convinced it wasn't longer. The first section is over a mile of trail runs, pretty much entirely uphill. My heat left at 12:30 in the 80+ degree sun. I didn't hydrate enough and legitimately had to talk myself out of passing out. But lesson learned. The obstacles were challenging enough. Definitely good for beginners. I'm signing up to do a Spartan Sprint in a few weeks and the Civilian Military Combine later this year which will be more challenging. After doing the Dash, I feel a heck of a lot more prepared for it.

Mud Run? Where was the mud?

Mar 02, 2014 by Julie

I have participated in multiple mud/obstacle races including a few Warrior Dashes. This will be my last Warrior Dash. I have been disappointed too many times.

Most of this course was on a PAVED trail! PAVED! If I wanted to run a road race, I would have spent less money.

The only mud we encountered was at the very end under the barb wire. Obstacles were not challenging.

Waste of money.

Excellent

I'm a seasoned 'Mudder and have participated in many events. I have raced in 3 Warrior Dash events and have always been pleased. I will continue to run in your events.

Warrior Dash Florida Feb 1 2014

Feb 02, 2014 by Carmine

This was my second time doing the Warrior Dash - this year I think they did a really great job! When I ran it in 2013 there were lots of long lines for everything, Not this year. I was in the 12:00 wave. Arrived at 11:30, had no issues parking, check in was quick and easy. There was no waiting at any of the obstacles. After last years event my expectations weren't very high but I was very impressed! Great event, had a great time and will be back next year.

Central Florida Warrior Dash 2-1-14

Feb 02, 2014 by Laura Smith

This was our third year running at Triple Canopy in Lake Wales, Fl. We knew to get there at least an hour before our start time because these are popular events and you always pay to park. I LOVE that this year they have gender specific t-shirts and almost everything was awesome. Plenty of volunteers, easy packet pickup, gear checks, water stops, obstacles, medals....they still need to increase the width of some of their obstacles. The most dangerous and ill equipped to handle the crowds this year is definitely the wall/rope climb. A tad steep and just not enough ropes to handle the sheer numbers. My biggest complaint was cleaning up.....seriously needed tons of water trucks there or put the event near a lake so we could clean up easier. We just need to remember to bring jugs of water ourselves, I guess. Finally, we always love getting our pic with the Warrior Dash sign and this year they had a cool FB feature, however it also took tons of time. That can't be that hard to make and transport, so possibly having three or four of these around the area for photo opportunities would be ideal. Overall, we were happy enough that we will again be back in 2015!

The Ultimate Mud Run, Obstacle Race and Adventure Race Guide , USA 2.8 5.0 197 197 I wouldn't even call this "Milwaukee" 2019 as it was an hour away. However, it was 100% ON A SKI HILL. It wasn't so much an obstacle run as it was just running a 5k up and down sk
