Warrior Dash obstacle races, mud run, and OCR information, distance, cost, dates, calendar, discounts, obstacles, reviews, and more

As of July 30th, 2019 Warrior Dash has announced they are ceasing operations. Please see this post for details, including several other OCRs who are stepping up and offering free races for affected Warrior Dash racers.

Warrior Dash is the world's largest running series and is held on challenging and rugged terrains across the world. Participants bound over fire, trudge through mud and scale over 12 obstacles during this fierce 5K. From couch potatoes to novice runners to extreme athletes, Warrior Dash truly is an event for all athletic abilities.

The inspiration behind Warrior Dash was to create the most bad-ass day possible. It is a day where participants can challenge themselves, be active and get muddy. Participants tackle the course and then celebrate their accomplishments with beer, food and live music.

Warrior Dash is an alternative to the classic 5K and provides an incomparable experience for participants and spectators. The unique combination of athleticism, live music, turkey legs and beer keeps Warriors coming back for more.

Warrior Dash is partnered with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The St. Jude Warriors program encourages Warrior Dash racers to fundraise for St. Jude. With the help of 2012 participants Warrior Dash has raised over 2 million dollars for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Red Frog Events prides itself on creating the Active Entertainment Industry, which is a combination of fitness, entertainment and event management. As a leader in the industry, we strive to make each Warrior Dash more unique and challenging than the last. Innovation is continuously brewing back at Red Frog Events office where the whole team is dreaming up new obstacles and twists for Warrior Dash. In the end, we are in the business of having fun!

Awesome!

Aug 26, 2013 by Aaron Merkel

This was my first Warrior Dash. It was awesome. Figuring out that you had to get ID checked first before getting your packet was confusing, but I eventually figured it out. No lines for anything, was great! The race had lots of fun obstacles, including walking through water in one section, and that wasn't even an official obstacle. My only complaint is that the rinsing hoses didn't have much water pressure. I am definitely going to do this again next year!!!!!

Good Time- Will do it agian

Had a blast. Not that challenging but understandably so. It is for a charity and to max people you have to make it fun vs work. The mud was great-could have had more efficient cleaning process. The staff were courteous and fun. We went off at 3pm and were disappointed that turkey legs were gone. We will be back next year. I hope they can book the same weather!

ClusterF*&k

Slow Race, had to wait at obstacles for like 15min out of my 55min. I should have skipped them, since when I finally got to them, I got across them in no time. People waiting at tops of the obstacles to help others created bottlenecks. Waste of time for someone not wanting to just screw around. Warrior Dash has jumped the shark. Never again.

Poorly Organized

I signed up for the MS WD 2013 after having done the MS Spartan a few months prior. I'd heard nothing but good things about the Warrior Dash. I had a pretty positive experience starting out - parking was pretty far from the course but shuttles were very timely. Check-in was a breeze. I was pumped and feeling on top of the world because I'd come much better prepared than I had for my previous mud run.

I was supposed to run at 12:00. I left at 2:00. Without having run the course. I moved toward the starting gates (there were two - opening at opposite 15 minute intervals letting about 100 people in every 15 minutes). I noticed a backup but thought surely the people manning the gates would notice too. Got in line after the 11:45 people went - and realized when I talked to some other people in line that some people from the 11:00 wave had not yet run. No one even came around with water and you couldn't leave the line because then you'd have to go to the back and get bumped back another hour or two - so we're losing hydration baking in the MS heat and there's no start in sight. I finally left after two hours of waiting. I heard there were bottlenecks on the course too, in spite of the cluster* they created at the start line in effort to minimize them.

Several things contributed to this. For one thing, there's nothing stopping people who got there early from joining an earlier wave. I overheard a LOT of people saying they were going to/had done this. A kindergartener could figure out how to fix that problem. Different colored wrist bands. Wave times on the bibs. Anything so that the gate people can see whether or not a person does or does not belong in the wave they're about to start. Second, they are signing up too many people per wave to begin with. Let's do some math here - they will sign up 500 people per half hour. With the dual starting lines, that means they needed to let 250 people in per 15 minutes. As I previously said, only about 100 people would fit past the threshold. So at best, they're not even letting in HALF of the "max capacity" of a wave during that wave time. They need to either sign up fewer people per wave and have more events to meet demand or give the obstacles a much greater capacity.

I think I'll stick with the Spartan Race. I choose my wave times for a reason.

Awesome!!!!

This was my second WD. Did Lebanon, KY last year (2012) and had a great time. This year was even better! Parking was better, most obstacles were better, layout better. Mud was even better. WD folks all friendly, helpful. We did 9 a.m. runs both years and experienced zero problems overall both years. My only, very minimal complaint would be that there was just a tad bit too much mud. Understandable, it had rained the day before, but wish they had put some straw down around the registration tent area and maybe on one area of the running. I don't know how folks ran through those parts, I had to walk because it was too slippery. But, would like for WD people to know that personally, I LOVE, LOVE LOVE (I mean really) love participating in the warrior dash run, will always have warm fuzzy feelings from this event and would absolutely recommend this to any person--fit or not, to at least try it. Brings out the kid in all of us. Thank you so very much for bringing this to Kentucky!!!!!! See you next year!

Very Organized

Aug 11, 2013 by Lydia C

This was my first mud run and after some of the reviews for some of the other races I was a little nervous.
It wound up being a really great race!
Parking was easy and fast and very close to the event. Everything was very organized. We did the 1:30 wave and was happy at how fast the registration line went (only had two ppl in front of me!) but found that all the medium shirts were gone! Not sure how that happens when you know how many shirts you need ahead of time! The bag check in was very fast!
It was very muddy all through the course. It was a little challenging having to dodge all the walkers because you were sliding all over the place! Still fun!
The obstacles were great, nice and challenging! There were not many lines having to wait for the obstacles so that was nice not having the time to psych yourself out! There were volunteers at all the obstacles giving out pointers if you needed it.
The water stations were very organized with lots of COLD water!
Once the race was over we found out that they had run out of water (again) so we had to get the thick mud off in this little "pond" . We just had baby wipes to clean up with.
The places for the beer had no lines. The tent to buy gear/souvenirs was really bad! There were only two people in front of me and I had to wait forever because what ever system they were using to track the sales was VERY slow. I knew what I wanted and it still 4 or 5 minutes for the lady to get my two things and "ring" me up. CRAZY!

Overall I liked the race and the challenges. I will make sure I do it next year but at an earlier wave!

This was my first WD and I loved it! I would have rated this event 5 stars if they had not run out of water for the spray-off after the race. We ended up trying to rinse ourselves off in a farm pond that was less than sanitary (black muck, malaria and pond scum...but hey, I'm still without fever).
Parking was close enough for our run time. The registration lines were organized and quick (I didn't even have to wait at all). The course itself was surprisingly difficult but not impossible. Exiting was also quick, without any delays. I loved it, hubby loved it and we both plan to go back next year!!

The obstacles were surprisingly challenging but very fun.

This was my first Warrior Dash and it was a blast! Only problems we had were caused by ourselves and lack of knowledge. We trusted the gps on our phones to get us to the race. After turning us in circles multiple times, we arrived at the race with 20 minutes until our start time. We arrived at the check in booth with only 10 minutes to race time and were able to register and still make the start time. I can't say enough about the volunteers and other racers. I lost my wedding ring just after the three clay hills. I began looking for it with one of the racers on my team. People began to ask what we were looking for and the next thing I knew, we had 30+ people looking for my ring! We left the ring behind and continued the race. Two obstacles later, volunteers were in a golf cart asking who had lost the wedding ring. They actually found it in all the mud. Saving the ring, and my butt! Thank you for such a great time. See you next year.

WATER

Aug 05, 2013 by Budd

Well.. It was a fun race. They did have mile markers which helped motivate you and fun signage encouraging you along the way. Parking was $10 and yet it was about 1mile from the event itself (Frustrating for the elderly spectators). Water Stations were spread through out the course, however, after Mile 2 I did not see any!!! (That was when I really NEEDED it.. (not in the beginning at the 1/2 mile or so point:( ) , I did get a stomach sickness from all of the mud, but I knew that was part of the risk. Medals.... Were actually kind of lame. The ribbon is tied around the medal (Instead of a clasp, and the ribbon was a plain black. I'm sure the ribbon could have been designed much 'cooler', suggest 86ing the t shirt or the viking hat and put the money into the medal. But still it was a good race (At least for a one time deal),

Well organized in NY!

Jul 28, 2013 by AllisonMarie12

This was my 2nd Warrior Dash, and I saw marked improvements over last year. The lines at check in were short, we didn't have to wait for busses to the parking areas, and the lines at the obstacles were much shorter. A changing area would be nice, but I just got changed in a porta potty and was fine with it. The toilets were cleaned several times through the day. Good job Red Frog! Looking forward to seeing you in NJ next weekend. :-)

The Ultimate Mud Run, Obstacle Race and Adventure Race Guide , USA 2.8 5.0 197 197 I wouldn't even call this "Milwaukee" 2019 as it was an hour away. However, it was 100% ON A SKI HILL. It wasn't so much an obstacle run as it was just running a 5k up and down sk
