Warrior Dash obstacle races, mud run, and OCR information, distance, cost, dates, calendar, discounts, obstacles, reviews, and more

As of July 30th, 2019 Warrior Dash has announced they are ceasing operations. Please see this post for details, including several other OCRs who are stepping up and offering free races for affected Warrior Dash racers.

Warrior Dash is the world's largest running series and is held on challenging and rugged terrains across the world. Participants bound over fire, trudge through mud and scale over 12 obstacles during this fierce 5K. From couch potatoes to novice runners to extreme athletes, Warrior Dash truly is an event for all athletic abilities.

The inspiration behind Warrior Dash was to create the most bad-ass day possible. It is a day where participants can challenge themselves, be active and get muddy. Participants tackle the course and then celebrate their accomplishments with beer, food and live music.

Warrior Dash is an alternative to the classic 5K and provides an incomparable experience for participants and spectators. The unique combination of athleticism, live music, turkey legs and beer keeps Warriors coming back for more.

Warrior Dash is partnered with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The St. Jude Warriors program encourages Warrior Dash racers to fundraise for St. Jude. With the help of 2012 participants Warrior Dash has raised over 2 million dollars for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Red Frog Events prides itself on creating the Active Entertainment Industry, which is a combination of fitness, entertainment and event management. As a leader in the industry, we strive to make each Warrior Dash more unique and challenging than the last. Innovation is continuously brewing back at Red Frog Events office where the whole team is dreaming up new obstacles and twists for Warrior Dash. In the end, we are in the business of having fun!

First Race Ever

Jan 11, 2014 by Gritty Kitty

This was my first OCR and I was not prepared! I had booked it with a group and they all bailed on me. So I ran it solo. The location is good, however you have to get there early to avoid the large crowds. Nice set up at the base but they leave you cooking in the sun before your start time, so hydrate well and bring fluid with you as the water stations were too far apart for beginner racers. Obstacles were fun, nice medal and swag at the end. More volunteers would have been nice along the trail especially the first climb up the mountain. Register early, bring a change of clothes and tape your shoes on. Extra bags for your wet clothes are recommended and spare cash for snacks.

Mixed Feelings

Nov 05, 2013 by Kellynn

I have done many runs and obstacle courses. And this was a blast but it was poorly organized and the $10 to park at a city park is RIP OFF! We decided on a later start date so it would be warmer. The course was not jammed until the big mud pit but folks were helpful and nice. There needed to be more safety precautions esp in areas where folks jump down from walls. I saw numerous folks get injured. Face it folks did not know what to do on some of those obstacles and unless you were in a group or were a hot girl you did not get a lot of help. Thank goodness both applied to me. The hosing area as many folks said was a joke we ended up finding spickets in the park area that were a lot better. I would do it again. But remember to register early to save $ since it is expensive and pick a later start time to avoid the crowds. Also bring towels and flip flops and check them.

Love it the Warrior Dash

I've only done four mud/obstacle races but the Warrior Dash was by far the best one! I thought it was well organized and fun before and after the race. The only problem I had was waiting in line to do one obstacle, but I think it may have only been backed up because they had two entrances blocked off because of an injury on the the other side.

Meh

Not the best of mud obstacle courses. The obstacles are cheap and there were just too many people. Parking was horrible as well. Not worth the price.

More like a Warrior walk

Sep 10, 2013 by Brandon

An Hour traffic jam a 1/2 mile away from the event, then forced into a zig zagging car maze on a bumpy rough field, then once I paid $10 for parking we were forced to park in the back parking area. Check in went well and smooth, as well did the baggage check, but then thrown into another 45 minute line just to get to the race gates. Fine, so far I was thinking maybe we should have just turned around at the car maze, but we were there and checked in so lets Race!! But wait once out on the track it was a cluster, we had about 15-20 minutes wait at every obstacle, It was a huge bummer to skip 2 events out of frustration. I expected to run this event, but it was more like come out and walk our course and try our obstacles. We will not be Attending this once great event next year unless they go back to a 2 day event and make the heats smaller, I inquired about the heat size after we were done, and the staff said they were letting 500 though at a time… Also maybe organize heats according to skill level? It would be easy to add a check box at sign up. Being stuck behind people that couldn’t or wouldn’t ever run a 5K is very frustrating.

Awesome!!!

Event Name: Oregon Warrior Dash - 2013

It was my first time doing the Warrior Dash, and I loved it. It was great and all for a good cause. It would have been nice to have at least one more drinking station. Can't wait to do it again!

Race ok, but everything else disorganized

Sep 08, 2013 by beth

I loved the obstacles and the race course was ok. Getting to the event was a mad house. In order to park they actually forced cars off the road and into a maze (picture a Disneyland-style line of cars without the fun) in a very bumpy field only to be spit back out onto the road in the exact place they left the road. This took over 15 minutes and a lot of extra stress on a vehicle. And some cars were randomly chosen not to go through this "maze." They went straight to parking. Thankfully, we were very early for event time and time wasn't an issue for us (but I believe it was an issue for others who were rudely-the people running this 'maze' were exceptionally rude and condescending to the attendees-forced off the road into the random maze field). Finding the start from parking was sort of by chance as was knowing what to do once you had your packet. The packet had only our race number, beer tag, and pins--no information about where to go, when to start, etc.
For a first-timer it was confusing. The race course itself had relatively easy obstacles but they were fun if there wasn't a line. It did become jammed up in places. The free beer at the end was nice but you had to stand in one line to show your ID, another line to get your beer, and then you had to guess where you could drink it. They had randomly stationed people that would tell you, "you can't go further with that beer!" We were actually very close to the beer tent and it simply felt awkward.
We arrived at one and were in a line of cars to part for over an hour. Our start time we waited over 45 minutes, so there was a huge "hurry up and wait" factor that is causing the 2 star rating,
disorganization is really what makes this review a two star; if it is simply about the course, it would be four and 1/2 stars!

The Ultimate Mud Run, Obstacle Race and Adventure Race Guide , USA 2.8 5.0 197 197 I wouldn't even call this "Milwaukee" 2019 as it was an hour away. However, it was 100% ON A SKI HILL. It wasn't so much an obstacle run as it was just running a 5k up and down sk
