CRAFT Sportswear Named “Official Performance Apparel and Footwear” of Spartan

For the last couple of months, many in the obstacle racing industry have been speculating which company would become the "official apparel and footwear" sponsor for Spartan. Today, that question is answered with the announcement of CRAFT, the Swedish based company, entering into a multi-year partnership with Spartan.

Spartan kicked off the U.S. National Series this weekend with some intense action in San Jose. In the men's race, it was Ryan Woods who took the first win of the series. The Gritty course on Mount Diablo offered a challenging course for top athlete to battle it out.

Spartan kicked off their U.S. National Series over the weekend in San Jose. Many of the top athletes from around the obstacle racing community toed the line for the first stop on this year's tour. Top finishers for the weekend were Ryan Woods and Rea Kolbl.

Spartan held its second annual Winter Sprint at Greek Peak ski resort in central New York.  The event took place Saturday with the Elites taking the snow at 9 am.  The crowds overall for the day seemed smaller than a typical Spartan race. 

Spartan Ultra World Championships Returns to Iceland in 2018

Emails went out this morning that Spartan will be returning to Iceland for the second annual Spartan Ultra World Championships. The 24-hour championship race is slated for Saturday, December 8, 2018.  This year the championship will include an elite field, age group awards, team, and open divisions.

I was excited to be back out there finally and looking forward to another race at Amelia Earhart Park, which now seems to be the go-to venue here in Miami. Initially my thoughts went to the opportunity of being able to compare race promoters on an even scale. What kind of race could they put on using the same exact terrain as other promoters? That doesn’t happen very often in OCR. However, it was clear from the beginning that Spartan Race wasn’t just playing against the rest of the OCR field, they were upping their game from their last visit here.
