She founded DirtinYourSkirt.com, an OCR community for women as well as former contributing editor for Mud and Obstacle Magazine and industry expert for About.com. She authored the book Obstacle Race Training.

There's no doubt that OCR has taken the world by storm in recent years. But within this growing community is the incredible passion for youth athletes to get involved at younger and younger ages. Whether it's a kid who's inspired by watching a parent compete, or someone just looking achieve new goals, there's a clear desire for more family-oriented athletic events in our area. In hopes of merging this desire with the existing OCR community, pursueEVENTures was born.

Spartan Ultimate Challenge Captures Audience For Second Week

The NBC competition reality television series Spartan: Ultimate Team Challenge continued to rule the airwaves last night with the second episode airing after American Ninja Warrior. The new team obstacle racing series premiered last week as the second highest rated "alternative television" launch in the last nine months. Last night the show captured the number position at the 10pm slot beating out Mistresses on ABC and BrainDead on CBS.

Tough Mudder Teams Up With Team Rubicon

Today, Tough Mudder announced a multi-year partnership with Team Rubicon, the only nonprofit disaster response organization that mobilizes military veterans to support communities devastated by natural disasters. The comprehensive charity partnership aims to raise $1.5 million by year-end 2017 – one of the largest monetary donations in Team Rubicon's six-year history – and to drive volunteer participation across the nation by activating Tough Mudder's passionate community of 2.5 million veterans and civilians.

OCR Short Course Revolution

For years, the obstacle racing industry has talked about the short course time and time again. The most famous and vocal proponent of the concept has been OCR racer Hobie Call. His vision of the sport in the future is a short course laid out in a stadium where people can watch all the action. Over the weekend, at the Spartan Race Dallas Stadium Race after the main heats were complete a version of that vision was realized. The IORF revealed a standard stadium format course, in conjunction with USA Pentathlon and delivered by Spartan Race.

2016 For Those Who Would OCR Humanitarian Award Nominations Open

Mud Run Guide has once again partnered with For Those Who Would and OCR World Championships to award the second annual For Those Who Would OCR Humanitarian Award. For Those Who Would, a Richmond, Kentucky-based 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity rooted in the obstacle racing community launched as an organization supporting individuals unable to participate in athletic and physical recreational activities due to debilitating injuries or chronic diseases.
