2016 World’s Toughest Mudder – Top Men to Watch

It's officially World's Toughest Mudder Week! Saturday at high noon the race kicks off in Lake Las Vegas, Nevada. This week Mud Run Guide is looking at top men, women, and teams to watch as we count down the days. With the $100,000 bonus in the team race and teams of two allowed this year has opened the door in the men's individual race. Many familiar faces are making their way back to the desert, and a few have either gone team or have decided to sit out this year opening the door for a new podium in 2016.

Tough Mudder Officially Releases New World’s Toughest Mudder App

Tough Mudder officially unveiled the new mobile app for 2016 World's Toughest Mudder today. This new mobile app offers participants, crew, and loved ones a new way to track the 24-hour race. The app features live coverage, course map, and live tracking. As well as a viewing guide, event schedule, rules, and hall of fame. Changing the experience for anyone wanting to follow the race.

2017 OCR World Championships Location Revealed

Athletes can start booking their travel for 2017 with the announcement today of the 2017 OCR World Championships heading back to Blue Mountain, Ontario, Canada. The fourth edition of the OCR World Championships is set to take October 13 -15, 2017. Pre-registration opens today to allow athletes to reserve their spot (prior to qualifying) in either the age group divisions or pro division.

Marco Bedard Brings New OCR to Canada – The Northman Race

Marco Bedard showed up in Lake Tahoe with a new company logo on his back - The Northman Race - during his win of the Ultra Beast. Bedard, a former Olympian, has been spending more time behind the scenes these days as a former Race Director for BattleFrog Series and directed the Canadian BattleFrogs this past year including the Montreal race which brought together several race companies to work as one on the event.

The CW Picks Up Additional Tough Mudder Series

Tough Mudder is making it's way to the television soon with the CBS Sports Series showcasing World's Toughest Mudder and Toughest Mudder announced a few months ago. Recently, Tough Mudder inked a second deal with The CW network to have a multi-platform series on both their CW Seed online network as well as the broadcast CW channel in 2017.

Tough Mudder Announces Toughest Mudder Race Schedule

A couple months ago Tough Mudder announced a new offering to their lineup of races. The latest addition to the Tough Mudder family is Toughest Mudder and is set to be a stepping stone for those looking to race World's Toughest Mudder. Toughest Mudder is an eight-hour night obstacle race that bridges the gap between the traditional Tough Mudder race and the grueling 24-hour World's Toughest Mudder.

Now that we’re within a month of WTM, we get to see the final set of rules! There was a lot of speculation behind these rules for this year's event. Tough Mudder recently sent out the updated rules for 2016 and the community starting chatting. When we sign up for crazy events like this, we’re allowing the HQ to define the parameters for our efforts to count, so it’s important to understand exactly what these rules are so we can do as well as possible on event day.

IOCRU – International Obstacle Course Racing Union – Unveiled at OCR World Championships

Athletes who raced last weekend at the OCR World Championships in Ontario, Canada all received a personalized card, patch, and postcard in their packets this year. The card was from the newly formed International Obstacle Course Racing Union (IOCRU). This Union was created by Adrian Bijanada, Amelia Boone, and Carrie Connors. The IOCRU was created with the purpose of serving the global community of OCR athletes, promoting and developing the sport of OCR, and fostering relationships between athletes, supporters, sponsors, fans, and race organizers according to the organization's website.
