Origins of OCR Warrior

Over the last few months I’ve been fielding a lot of questions regarding OCR Warrior, what it is, how it ties into the other shows airing on TV from American Ninja Warrior to BattleFrog College Championship, and the new show in casting for Spartan Race as well as what my plans are for the future with the collapse of Atlas Race. In order to answer those, let’s go back to how OCR Warrior got its start.

NBC Orders ‘Spartan Race’ Series: Short Course OCR Takes Center Stage

Last week, NBC announced it would be ordering a new show tentatively called "Spartan Race" and it would be produced by American Ninja Warrior producers A. Smith & Co. Productions. This marks the latest in a series of programming continually pushing OCR into the mainstream media. The announcement was picked up around the internet with mainstream websites such as MSN, USA Today, Deadline, Hollywood Reporter and more.

Industry News: Spartan Combine: A True Test of Spartan Grit.

Recently Spartan Race Headquarters announced their annual Spartan Race Combine will take place this weekend in Palmerton, PA on July 14 & 15th. This combine is designed to benchmark an elite group of Spartan competitors with vigorous tests such as the rope climb and bucket carry and ultimately better understand their training needs ahead of this year’s World Championships in Lake Tahoe on October 3rd and 4th. Spartan Pro team members including Brakken Kraker and Orla Walsh, and a select group of Spartan Elite from around the globe have been invited to participate in this event.

BattleFrog Series Appoints New CEO

Ramiro Ortiz, an experienced business and sports executive, has been appointed chief executive officer of BattleFrog LLC, the obstacle course race series inspired by Navy SEALs. Ortiz previously served as a business consultant to the BattleFrog board of directors and, in that role, performed a thorough analysis of the organization’s operations.
