By |May 1st, 2018|

Have you ever wanted to lay down and cry before, during and after an event? That’s how I felt Saturday at the Spartan Tri-State New Jersey Beast. Tara Skinner writes about her experience at the recent Spartan race.

Race Recap: Warrior Dash Tennessee 2018

By |April 26th, 2018|

Freshly cleared by my physical therapist to return to racing in the non-competitive heats, I jumped at the chance to mark my return to obstacle course racing with the fun and fast Warrior Dash. Though there was no hope of a repeated podium performance from last year’s effort at Warrior Dash, I approached the day eager to return to the open waves for a fun run. In the realm of fun, Warrior Dash never disappoints.

Race Recap: Citi Field Spartan Stadium Sprint

By |April 25th, 2018|

For some, their OCR season is in full swing. For me, the Spartan Stadium Sprint at Citi Field was my first race of the year and it didn’t disappoint! The race was held on Saturday, April 21 at Citi Field, home of the New York Mets (Let’s go Mets!). For those not familiar with New York City, the stadium is in Flushing Meadows–Corona Park in the borough of Queens and was about 110 miles from my home in New Jersey.

Race Recap: City Challenge Obstacle Race – New Jersey

By |April 23rd, 2018|

How many obstacle course races do you have on your schedule for 2018? More importantly, is The City Challenge Obstacle Race one of them? Race Recap: Savage Race – Central Texas

By |April 20th, 2018|

A new month means a new race.  This month I decided to step out of my norm and try Savage Race for the first time. The race is every bit as savage as its name.  While the 5-mile distance itself is not the hardest or the furthest I’ve done, the race definitely was not easy. Savage Race served as an eye opener to my own flaws in my training for obstacle course races.

Race Recap: Spartan Race US National Championship Series, Seattle Super

By |April 19th, 2018|

Welcome back to the absolutely beautiful Pacific Northwest, where Spartan, once again, held its highly anticipated Seattle-area US National Series. It was an opportunity for OCR’s top athletes to secure their position in the US Championship in West Virginia, while also providing a rematch of sorts for those who were physically, mentally, and spiritually defeated after the mud fest that was the Seattle Super in 2017.

Race Recap: Gladiator Rock n’ Run at Angel Stadium California

By |April 18th, 2018|

This year, Gladiator Rock n' Run Race decided it was time to evolve with the future, so the company vocalized their intrigue in organizing a stadium run. Spartan was the first to introduce it in 2012, and now many of the leading obstacle course racing brands are becoming fascinated with the idea of racing in their favorite arenas and ballparks.

Race Recap: 2018 Charlotte Spartan Sprint

By |April 17th, 2018|

Before I start my race recap article, I must clearly state this recap was for the Saturday, April 7th, 2018 Charlotte Spartan Sprint. I think it is important that I inform everyone, since the Sunday, April 8th, 2018 Charlotte Spartan Sprint was a slightly different experience based on the drier weather. The rain on Saturday definitely added a degree of difficulty when it came to completing obstacles, especially as the day carried on.

Race Review: Tough Mudder Miami

By |April 16th, 2018|

While everyone else in the country is talking about gearing up for 2018, it’s odd to say that the Tough Mudder Miami would be my last race of this season.  Well, the last race of the Spring season.  Of course, we have a Fall season, but no major races in the summer.  So it’s no surprise that I was looking forward to this race, my longest event this year and my first Tough Mudder (TM) since 2015.

Race Recap: 2018 Epic Series – Fresno, California

By |April 12th, 2018|

Epic Series decided to make their way into a new market. In the past, many of their events could be found in the Los Angeles and San Diego areas. Having participated in 10 Epic Series races in the past I was very interested to see what this new location would offer.
