Survival Run Nicaragua begins on Friday afternoon, held on the island of Ometepe in the middle of Lake Nicaragua. The extreme endurance event enters its 5th year with athletes flocking from around the globe to tackle an event dubbed one of the toughest events on the planet with a 5% - 10% finish rate annually.
Tougher Mudder, the newest addition to the Tough Mudder brand brings competitive racing to the longtime obstacle racing brand. Tough Mudder was hinted at earlier this year but today the official release and information regarding the competitive heat for the action sports company. This year Tough Mudder will give away over $350,000 in prize money at Tougher Mudder.
The Wheel, the docu-reality show on Discovery Channel ended on Friday with the season finale. Out of the six participants who began The Wheel, only Luke and Adam made it to day sixty. Adam Kimble joined Mud Run Guide along the way to share all the behind the scenes stories throughout the season.

Rock Springs Run State Reserve is a gorgeous venue for local events. The venue is known to many as the location of the 2015 BattleFrog Championship race. As beautiful as the venue is, the trails are sugar sand providing a new challenge to runners from anywhere but Florida. Saturday morning was cool and cloudy, a welcome relief from the recent eighty degree days. There was a lot of excitement among racers because Bonefrog Challenge was the start of the 2017 season for many.
Green Beret Challenge has been around since 2012 founded by Mark Ballas. Ballas, a former Green Beret wanted to bring some of his military experience to the masses. He launched his events with the Commando Team challenge, an 8+ mile event. Recently, Ballas added two new offerings from Green Beret Challenge with the Operator (individual race) and Behind Enemy Line 24-hour event.

Today, Spartan Race announced their 2017 Pro-Team. This year members of the Pro-Team include Amelia Boone, Robert Killian Jr., Faye Stenning, and more. This year the Pro-Team finds some new athletes along with more masters athletes to help round out the team.
