Adam Kimble’s Run Across USA – Day 4

Adam's body continues to adjust to the mileage as he crosses an ever-changing landscape. Today's route was mostly along narrow roads and sandy access roads following I-10. We ran south of Joshua Tree National Park and are feeling blessed to experience the beauty of this part of the country. We knew before sunrise that we were going to have to fight for day 4.

Latin America Update: OCR and Spartan Race in Mexico this Year. Anyone?

2016 will be an exciting year for OCR in Mexico. With the rapid rise of OCR and mainly Spartan Race across the World, Mexico hasn’t been left behind. The first big OCR in Mexico was organized by Spartan Race three years ago in 2013 attracting a lot of new racers & people seeking for all these new alternative sports in running and adventure racing.

Adam Kimble’s Run Across USA – Day 3

Day 3 started strong. Adam went from Cabazon, CA to Mecca, CA. The tendinitis behind his knee was much improved and the course was relatively flat, with some rolling hills through wind farms near North Palm Springs. The route is a bit tricky from here to Phoenix as we are forced to find roads parallel to I-10, which is tricky to do in this part of the country!

SpartanX is one of the newest offerings from Spartan Race as part of their education programming. The goal of SpartanX is to enhance and teach mental fortitude through online modules. The educational course is driven by the Spartan Principles.

The Battlegrounds Offers Pre-Season Training outside St. Louis

Spartan Race Founder Joe De Sena talks Agoge, SpartanX, Spartan Delta and More

This evening from Singapore one of the Spartan Race founders, Joe De Sena, took the time to talk to Mud Run Guide about the latest happenings with the company. In the video below Joe talks about the Agoge which just took place in Vermont last weekend. He talks about the Spartan Delta and how it fits into the Spartan Race ideals.

Adam Kimble’s Run Across USA – Day 2

Day 2 started out rough, but ended well! Adam went from Riverside, CA, to Cabazon, CA. He is dealing with tendinitis behind his knee, which cropped up late on Day 1 and was screaming after a steady climb at the start of Day 2. He completed 45 miles, 15 shy of the 60 planned for the day. He walked miles 3-38 and applied Kool 'N Fit pain relieving liquid at every pit stop to give his tendon the best chance of recovery and it appears to have paid off: Adam was able to run the final 7 miles on the day!

Goliathon Delivers the Charity:Water

Goliathlon is a non-profit semi-permanent obstacle race outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The race is known for their unique course design and tiered obstacles for all OCR enthusiasts to enjoy. Last year, Mud Run Guide checked out this unique race and wrote this article: Goliathon: The Race That Gives Back. The core team behind Goliathon take no salaries and all work as volunteers.

Adam Kimble’s Run Across USA – Day 1

Day 1 went as well as could be expected. Adam ran from Huntington Beach to Riverside, CA, in temps ranging from 55 degrees to 88 degrees. He was welcomed into the town of Yorba Linda by a crew of runners eager to run with him for a few miles.
