Spartan Race World Championships will officially be returning to Lake Tahoe, California for another year. Mud Run Guide received word earlier today that the series world championship will be back in Squaw Valley, Lake Tahoe in 2017. 2017 will mark the third year Spartan Race has hosted their world championship at the former Olympic venue. In 2017, athletes will be competing for over $500,000 in cash and prizes.
Team Ninja Warrior has gone back to school with a new 5-episode miniseries, Team Ninja Warrior College Madness. The Ninja Warrior franchise is expanding. This time the teams consist of college students racing for their colleges. The new mini-series is set to air on November 22 on Esquire Network.

2016 World's Toughest Mudder kicked off today with a press conference at Lake Las Vegas, Nevada less than a mile away from this year's race. The press conference was anchored by the three-time World's Toughest Mudder Champion Amelia Boone. The panel featured CBS Sports Producers, elite athletes, Team Rubicon representatives, and other Tough Mudder Officials.
Today, Tough Mudder revealed new obstacles for the 2017 season. Some of which will show up this weekend at World's Toughest Mudder. The new obstacles include Augustus Gloop, The Reach Around, Artic Enema - The Rebirth, and Funky Monkey. The new obstacles also Legionnaire exclusives - Kong, Snot Rocket, Stage 5 Clinger, and Black Hole.
