If you have ever run a race, you are familiar with this problem. “If I run in the 8 am wave and it takes me two hours to finish, that gives me 30 minutes to get changed, 30 minutes for socializing and 45 minutes to get back to my hotel. Then I have 10 minutes to shower and 5 minutes to check out.”

Traveling can be stressful for everyone. Airline travel can be even more stressful. When you add in a race and airline travel, it is a whole other ball game. Finding the balance between packing too much and not packing enough can be a delicate balance. Saucony has been a longtime favorite for many runners both on the trails and on the road. The company recently released two new shoes the KOA ST and KOA TR. Saucony's new shoes are not specifically designed for obstacle racing or mud runs. However, when a national brand creates a rugged shoe, it is definitely something to try.

We were intrigued by the KOA ST as it says "MUD" on the side of the shoe. Any shoe that has the word MUD on it intrigues both Brett and Margaret. How could it not?!?
Finding the right shoes can surely be complicated and Brett is here to make it even more difficult. Seriously, it'd be a helluva lot easier if we well wore the same size & style, were the same height, weight, and all ran exactly the same. How hard is that?
A fan favorite is back this summer from Inov-8. The popular Trailroc series comes back this summer with an upgrade. The Trailroc's were a fan favorite among many obstacle racers for years. When Inov-8 discontinued them a few years ago many flocked to the stores and stocked up. But fear no more that favorite is back!
I have been running OCR for five years now so I pretty much have my gear list set for my races but these were going to be unchartered waters. The weather itself was going to be an obstacle. I decided on my clothes but wasn’t sure what to do to protect my hands and still be able to use them properly. Regular winter gloves would have kept them warm but would have provided no grip.
